I like to add some safety note and a question. Oxygen itself is a non-flammable gas, but Oxygen can cause a socalled exothermic oxidation reaction, when oxygen comes in contact with lubricants like oil or grease. So never use a lubricant like oil or grease inside devices where this lubricant comes in contact with oxygen, because this will cause a very rapid oxidation that develops heat and eventually fire inside the device. A simple wrag covered with oil, in contact with pure oxygen will ignite itself and cause fire. 2:10 regarding the moisture trap, why is it that back in the old days (anno 80's and beyond) that they use some sort of water evaporator (plastic bottle with straw till the bottom) behind the flowmeter on portable oxygen canisters for use at home ? My grandpa had severe Astma and had always a big canister oxygen at home from the local pharmacist, and i heared the pharmacist say that the bottle always must be filled with water. Later on, i never seen this water bottle again when applying oxygen to people. So was this plastic water bottle to humidify the inhaled oxygen, or maybe a watertrap (filter) for particles coming from the steel canister ?

Oxygen by nature is a dry gas and often needs a humidifier when connected to a patient for a period of time. The moisture trap is on the MedAir line which is filtered compressed atmospheric gas.. In medical, we use silicone grease on equipment that handles oxygen.
