I own and operate a small dental/medical repair shop specializing in autoclave repair and I love this channel. I want to expand my knowledge, go back to school for biomedical tech and grow my business and this channel is one that I watch daily to study. For such a niche field this kind of thing is valuable.

Up to you, but should shape table as a 14:24 upside U and lower table until table take’s weight of table before working on hydraulics. I learned this at Skytron training. Old biomed with many oops. Enjoy your videos from retired side of the fence.

Nice job. Always make sure of head clearance when getting under these “tanks”. The structure is unforgiving. Great video. TY

Very similar to the 6500 beds my hospital has, this type of repair can look quite intimidating but once you know the bed its actually quite fun and interesting.

I’m only in my first year of school, so a lot of the mechanical terminology was above my head, but you did a good job explaining yourself. Great video! I learned a lot and it was a fun watch too 😊

Thanks. If I am explaining a failure to medical staff I use a much simpler explanation. One of the reasons I strive to use the most correct technical terminology is to teach the correct terminology to people that will need to explain their symptoms to manufacturer engineers or to document the exact failure in work orders. You can always research terms that are above your head but there is no help when you need to decipher someone's poorly documented failure history. Good luck in your studies!

If you check at 11:00 and 23:44 , you can see that hydraulic valves block after cleaning is 180° rotated when placed back. All the other brass blocks have the marking strip at the corner on the rear left side next to the mounting bolt. These blocks are probably symmetrical on both sides, but i noticed this little change :-)
@BetterBiomedChannel
@BetterBiomedChannel 4 жыл бұрын
You are correct. The block is symmetrical. I've experimented with the orientation in the past without issue. Proper orientation matters for the needle valve speed controls for up / down hydraulic speed. Since I completely disassemble the block, those speed settings are lost and need adjustment anyways.

@deanjohnson1690 3 жыл бұрын
The springs on the pistons should be replaced if you have them out, they compress over time... The speed is adjusted with the small screw on the side of the block not the top, but as far as i can tell judging by all your videos you sir are an awesome tec.

I just came across this video while I'm dealing with one of Skytron's surgical table myself. The problem is once it has over 200 lbs upon it, it won't elevate. It was already filled with oil, do you know what the issue could be?
@BetterBiomedChannel

@@ap869 I'd check the lift hydraulic block for the same type of obstruction. You can adjust the raise / lower brass needle valve to see if opening the orifice a little clears the jam

Hello. One question. I am repairing a skytron 6001 table. The customer informed me that when weight is applied to the table the table starts to lean to one side. Either when someone sits on the table or when the patient is lying down, the table makes a lateral movement. I clarify that this movement is done when the table is not activated by the button panel. At first I thought that this problem could be caused by air in the hydraulic system, but I have already bled the entire system and the table continues to move. What could be causing this problem?

Check to see if there is a leak at the table tilt piston. Common known problem. Tilt rebuild kit includes new brass piston.
