Hey i know your headed to the spom and newer players dont tend to go to the ceres astroid but the is also the Alveo Vera plant which is great at oxygen production by consuming CO2 and making oxylite whic can be placed in sconce and oxygenate a base. Also i take it your only looking at natral oxygen production and nothing mechanics explotative like the Hydra (Flooded Spom). Great video keep it up

@@princescdk3107 Thank you for the comment! Indeed I've tried to keep the video within the scope of what new players would have access to, typically on the Terra asteroid for the base game. I also don't get into any builds that exploit the game mechanics, maybe that's for a future video 👍 My goal for the Spom video is to show just how easy it can be to build, so new players have an easy transition to it during the mid-game phases. It's usually harder to secure the water source than it is to build the actual Spom itself

Thank you , good work, i'm waiting for part 2 🥰

Thank you! Part Two is now live! It is entirely about the spom

Even though I am not a new player anymore I am still enjoying these 🙂 Keep it up ^^

Thank you so much. I love to hear that more experienced players are watching these videos, and leaving comments. It helps me out tremendously. I will make more videos catering to more experienced players, but I feel like I need to explore all of the methods where new players get stuck to have a complete library to help people out.

@@ethanplays-lag That is definitely the way to go, if you ask me.. The learning curve on this game is so steep that beginner tutorials are so needed and I consumed all of them when I was first starting out (450 hours ago, lol)... But even though I have played a bunch - I still have NEVER launched a rocket ^^' There is so much I have still never done... So I will definitely be following along until you get to the more experienced player tutorials :) I like your style even if our playing styles aren't completely in sync :)

Best use for the Algae terrarium is to convert water into polluted water, and easily create a large source that off gasses into polluted oxygen. So a setup that deodorizes this polluted oxygen is actually a pretty efficient setup.

Good point! Thank you for the feedback! I gotta admit that I haven't played around with the terrarium to that extent, I generally just rush a spom setup right after I find a water source.

@ethanplays-lag also, since the output water is warm, I've used them as a means to melt ice without digging it up first. Just build a tank around the ice and dump the warm polluted water on it. Recycle and clean the water to then feed back into the terrariums. Just make sure the pumped out water stays above 0C when pumping it out and trying to clean it.

Good video for Beginers! But there are some more methods to produce oxygen. It is acceptable for beginers and for advanced players and colonization too. 1. Morbs. You'll need ~5 morbs per dupe, 1.1 deodorizer per dupe. For colony of 10 dupes it is only 55 watt /s of power consumption. No need of cooling. In my game, I have 160 morbs, it is enough for 22 puft -> about 1 000 kg of slime, that enough for dusk production farm, one sage hatch farm -> 1 coal generator, and produce about 320+ kg / cycle of oxygen via Deodorizer. I am going to colonize some other planets like Superconductive Asteroid and Moo asteroid with Morbs. 2. Pollited water -> Polluted oxygen production. Two full cells of polluted water is able to produce up to 60 kg / cycle of polluted oxygen. For colony of 10 dupes it costs about 55 watt/s of power for Deodorizers and 0.11 time of working Liquid Pump or 26 watt /s . Total 55+26=81 watt /s. And no need of cooling with Polluted Water Vent. 3. Infectious Polluted Oxygen Vent. Usually it is producing about 100 g/s that is enough for one dupe and costs 5.5 watt /s on avarage. And some cooling. While active up to 400 g/s of polluted oxygen. Deodorizers are source of clay -> ceramic - great insulator. So maybe it will be good video #3 or #4 for begginers

Great tips! I'm slowly finishing up my catalog for beginners, and as I start moving onto the intermediate tutorials I think your ideas are perfect. I will also start covering more mechanics introduced in the Spaced Out DLC, which are notably absent in my beginner tutorials. Thank you for your feedback!

For the Spom (Near) perfect ratio 9 Electrolyzers to 16 oxygen pumps and 2 Hydrogen pumps Game: 888 O to 112 H 8/9 = 888.9, 1/9 = 111.1, making an 8 to 1 ratio the best fesible ratio with about 100% pump usage. This will supply 79 normal, 106 divers lungs, or 39 mouth breathers (all rounded down)

That is a lot of oxygen! I don't usually have more than 12-15 dupes in my runs, so I find that just 4 electrolyzers are able to sustain my colony and produce excess oxygen as well! Maybe one day I will commit to take on as many dupes as possible lol
