Jazz/Fusion, the best music,best musicians. Most creative ,forward looking universal sounds that vary across a huge spectrum of styles. It's bluesy, funky and jazzy like this. Others have a classical meets jazz meets rock. So much great music out there that blows mainstream popular music away in every way. That's why mainstream music critics hate it. Even mainstream Jazz ,wich I love and isn't popular, pop poos Fusion. They're all JEALOUS. period end of report. Next case

Oy Vey, er, Oz Noy isn't as gifted as Hiram Bullock, the king of the world in my opinion. But he is extraordinary. Dennis Chambers is one of my hands down favorite drummers. He is brilliant. Will Lee is not my favorite bass player but who cares? Everything he's ever done make everybody sound extraordinary.

I like the direction he is going withthis album. Some of his recent attempts to be more accessible to the masses (ie. songs with vocals, covers of overly familiar tunes) have been disappointng.
@moreorlesslikeso4 жыл бұрын
I actually wouldn't agree that Oz's songs with vocals have been that disappointing at all. If you do it as well as Oz and his band have done there's nothing bad about it. They all have had (and probably keep on having) ample room to still shine on these tunes as instrumentalists. Neither is it a bad thing in itself to be or try to be accessible to the masses (although talking about "masses" here seems to be a bit overstated to me) - you just have to be careful to be aware if that what you might possibly(!) sacrifice (if you do that at all) subtracts from the essence of what you really want do as an artist. There's really more to Oz's kind of music than what may ultimately please the "jazz police"...
