OMG The amount of water on this trail is insane. John from MI

Right! I’m glad I didn’t know until after I committed because in my mind I thought “as long as there isn’t snow” … it’s a great type 2 trail, because it’s fun to look back on but was not the most fun in the moment haha

Yep, a web of water. Is this a river delta or just a really flat area without a true riverbed? Whichever, you seem to make good time moving through this.

I think it’s from all the rain they had… I interviewed Tim from the Ozark Highlands Trail Association on Backpacker Radio prior to starting, and had a separate call with him after to walk through what to expect for each water crossing, and he was super informed on every crossing, but these random water webs didn’t come up which makes me think it’s seasonal or from recent weather

@@JulianaChauncey Well, more crazy weather effects. At least you don't let it get in your way!

Always fun to watch a pro, Chaunce. I'm going to try to get down there and at least do a section or two of this next month, hope it's not this crazy. Maybe you should do a nice, dry desert hike somewhere next 😀
