Most of my offroading/overlanding/camping gear stays in my Jeep Gladiator Rubicon all the time so I am ready to go at a moments notice and I don't have to spend half a day loading my rig before a trip. Here is a walk through of everything that stays in my overlanding rig and daily driver full time.

I have been amazed at how much stuff I can cram under and behind the rear seat in my gladiator. You reminded me that I am currently missing the most important thing a jeep needs TP!

Great video. It is surprising, how many people don't have the basic necessities even outside of overlanding. First aid, jumper cables, basic tools, rain gear. You never know when something will happen, and even though you can't prepare for every scenario, you can mitigate most of them, with basic necessities.

I carry a full change of oil, and water. recovery gear lives in the tow vehicle and gets tossed in before the trail. (No doors no locks) The tow bar stays in the jeep (locked down) I think I'll add an air mattress, 12v pump, blankets and pillows to the tow vehicle. I'm hoping to make it to Moore for a day or so.

Great video! I always wonder what other people carry. I’m all about preparedness wether I’m driving to get groceries and going to work or on a trip. You never know what you will come across on a normal day when you may need some equipment/gear. Good stuff man

Everything else on point except your knife choice in my opinion. For camp craft I use Battle Horse knives. A little pricey for some at $200 plus but they’re hand made and dependable. I got sick of the gerber mystery metal knives and multi-tools literally snapping on me when used for heavy tasks. I also have a few Bark River knives that I use and for folders I have several Spyderco knives. Also expensive but you get what you pay for and good knife steel and craftsmanship isn’t cheap.

this one isn't one of Gerbers cheap walmart knives. I really like it.
@eladsgarr

@@OzarkOverlandAdventures it is a well liked knife but one of the biggest detractors and reasons I won’t own one is that it’s a 3/4 tang knife which is a point of weakness. All of the fixed blade knives I carry are full tang. And the gimmick of serrations that unfortunately found their way onto fixed blade bushcraft knives is a sad thing. To each their own but if you ever get the opportunity you should try a knife from Battle Horse or Bark River Knives.

I recommend you keep your TP in a 1 gallon ziplock style bag, throw a trowel in and a little bottle of hand sanitizer, maybe in its own little ziplock bag. Cause if it's raining and you gotta go, wet TP is not much help.

Another great vid but as a daily driver, I’d be concerned parking that setup anywhere but a locked garage. I get that it’s convenient to have things “ready to go at a moment’s notice” but then it’s way too easy for a dirtbag to grab all your gear while you run into the store. Hopefully everyone’s honest in your area - not the case where I live, unfortunately.

I have a high roof shell and just carry my tools,recovery. The overlanding/camping stuff stays home aswell as everything else. My memory foam bed stays in the bed tho. I dont take much tho. I’m not a fan of carrying overlanding gear sticking out my truck imo it looks like too much. End of the day its your truck, whatever makes you happy.

Yes, that's pretty much true anywhere you live nowadays in America -- increasing street crime/property theft. And you can't stay parked in your garage 24/7 -- you DO have to go out sometimes (my Gladiator is also MY Daily Driver) and park it who knows where...sometimes even in places with ghetto/street-trash out & about pursuing their crime-careers (with impunity). :-( My fire-extinguisher is a larger one, but it's inside the cab, strapped to the rear roll-bar, but it's covered to it can't be seen (by mentioned street-trash looking in windows for stuff to steal). I also have 2 Ft. Knox Pistol Boxes (securely tethered with a chain) for more valuable items (mainly spare ammo, cell-phone, camera -- whatever I need secure storage for). And under the rear seat, aside from SOME tools (but not as many as Ozark Overland has!) I include a "repel boarders" tool (a SKS), which is in a gun-sock & securely tethered in 2 places. When I carry my pair of recovery boards (ARB TRED Pro) they're stored in the bed of the truck (under the hard/tri-fold bed-cover, out of sight) AND securely tethered as well. Some stuff is behind the 2 rear seat backs as THEY can be locked, but given there's little space for stuff in that location, the rest of it has to go under the not-locking rear seat under-storage area (with the SKS) -- my small 12v air-compressor (Viair 88P) is there as well (won't fit behind the locking seat-backs) -- the more expensive 12v portable compressor (Viair 450P) stays at home (where it's a little safer) for @ home/garage-use only. And, I always carry a small amount of food, water, small butane/propane stove, etc. The "Winter Kit" has more stuff in it, the "Summer Kit" has less. AND 2 blades (small & large), a Silky Gomboy saw and 16" Estwing Campers Axe (mainly for downed trees blocking the trail, if need be, vs. carrying an electric cordless or gasoline chain saw). The overall point though is I try to KEEP what I carry -- WHATEVER it is -- secure (cables/locks) and out-of-sight as best I can...so a Smash & Grab POS can't take it all easily, let alone take stuff (literally pry it, as someone here (Jeff Olson) has already mentioned!) off the bed-rack. As for the handgun, being my EDC it's always ON me 24/7...so no need to find a place in the truck for THAT. But if I go somewhere where I can't carry it (metal detectors!), it goes into one of the Pistol Boxes. Or, if need be it's secured to a rail under the seat using a pair of quality handcuffs. ;-) Again though, I think "security first" for stuff I carry in ANY vehicle, not just the Jeep. -- BR

@@billredding2000 Yup thanks for sharing that's a good read. I now live in Chicago suburbs which is safer but I've grew up in LA, every car I had was broken into and learn to hide everything. Even then my stereo was stolen which was under my seat (dummy plate on the dash). How do they know? my neighbor was watching me reach down as I entered my street, it was a neighborhood job. Also as a PSA to all LOL, don't ever park Wranglers in Chicago airport parking lots, short or long term, it is a sitting duck, your spare tire will be stolen 100% and most likely an inside job.

@@lonestartex1 Since I carry (here in CO, and when I visit NM & TX as well), it's quite possible I might catch someone in the act of burglarizing my truck.
