My OzCharge RescueMate was put to the test today. First up, the battery died in my Harley Davidson 103 twin cam (1690cc). All I got was a 'click' when I pressed the starter button. So I grabbed my RescueMate, connected it to the motorcycle battery, but the battery level was not sufficient to charge the RescueMate, so I connected the RescueMate to my car, waited for the RescueMate to charge up and to my surprise, the RescueMate actually started the Harley Davidson engine. I have 2 super-capacitor jump starters; the OzCharge RescueMate and also a KROAK S320 (higher capacity). The KROAK S320 defintely does a good job, but the alligator clamps on the KROAK are rather mediocre quality and I'm actually expected them to break one day. The OzCharge RescueMate's alligator clamps are definitely much better quality. The main thing to know with the RescueMate is to understand the sequence of steps when using it. The first time I tried it on a Harley Davidson, I wasn't able to get it working, however that was my fault. Once I applied the right procedure, the RescueMate did the job. It's a good feeling to be rescued by a mate.

Like cycling glow plugs 2 or 3 times on cold day to help a cold start, could ‘cycling’ that capacitor into the battery BEFORE trying to start help? Charge, run,repeat 2 or 3 more times THEN try to start.

good idea. never tested that way. Will do in the future.

@@DesignedinAustralia0 I have used that priming technique and it works if battery has at least 2 or more volts. On my semi truck, my 12 liter diesel has 4 12volt 1000 CCA batteries and I hook one, charge pack, hook 2nd, charge it, 3rd etc. once all 4 are charged I press all 4 at the same time, leave key in on position. After gauges sweep in middle of glow plug cycle I crank it and 95% works on first try. Or “ prime “ it 2 or 3 times with key off and on last cycle it has started.

Not a bad effort for the basic model.

Thanks for taking your time to do a review on our product! As you mentioned the vehicle you're attempting to start is pushing the limits of the 500AMP model but great news we have a new model the RM1000 which is 1000AMPS. This will start your vehicle no problem! If you'd like to get in contact with us we might be able to sort you out with one. info@ozcharge.com.au

Hey! Surely it DID start the van multiple times! The only time it did not start was when it had dead cold depleted battery with very low voltage so it had a serious thumbs up from me! I'd like to give it a test with 1000AMP version and will send you an e-mail. Thanks!

Probably would’ve worked if the motor was warm otherwise you need the bigger unit

Yes. Engine had head gasket problem, it actually made it work very easily but not parked for long time.

Capacitor´s Jump Starter aren´t recomended for diesel engines.
@DesignedinAustralia06 жыл бұрын
And the reason and source is? There is no difference between a normal lead acid jump starter and this one. It will not going to make any difference or cause any issues what so ever.

@@DesignedinAustralia0 Diesel engines need more energy to heat the glow plugs and completely different from the spark plugs of a gasoline engine.You have a symbol on the dashboard that shows when the pre-heater is hot and can start and for that to happen it takes a lot of energy that this device can not deliver. In naphtha engines that function is performed by the spark plug. Battery starters need to be preloaded and do not forget that every 3 months they lose their load, these are not a concern less.

@@fadotre I see your point. I can easily tell that This device is strong enough for Glow plugs to go on hot(they only last a few seconds in modern vehicles anyway). I tried in 20yr old vehicles which easily started them(glow plugs are on for 6 seconds or so). You have to remember that this device does not replace the battery itself, it just gives enough time to give that short kick. In this video, it was way over it's capacity with almost fully empty battery and i had trouble filming it but easily did start several times even it was over it's capacity(they have 2 different versions). You have to remember the CCA is different than what these devices do,they are just `bandages` for short periods.

Only the RM1000 model is recommended for diesel engines. Your RM500 don't have enough current capacity to start a diesel engine. This information is on the manufacturer's website. You bought the wrong model for your car.

If you read my other comments(and the video description) you will see i stated that it WORKS when the battery is NOT severely depleted. Tried,tested and worked multiple times(until the battery is SEVERELY depleted) . It was not a car, it was a LARGE scale transit and it DID make it work easily(when the battery is not severely depleted below 8Volts) EVEN thou it was undersized.

That shitt does not work
@DesignedinAustralia06 жыл бұрын
If you have fully watched the video, it is already way over it's limit and it DID work multiple times. The only reason why it did not at this stage is because battery was depleted beyond the capacity of the device(you need more than 5 or 6v from my memory). So Nope, it DOES work.

@@DesignedinAustralia0in the video (which is not edited as you will see) there is a moment when it does not start and it is because the crocodile moves from the negative pole while I am taking the camera, it is also appreciated that the charger maintains the previous charge and when I connect it again Correctly, the value drop in the display is seen while starting the motor.

If i spend 200 some dollars on product to start my car it should work save ur money and buy Stanley 1000 from Walmart its only 70$ guaranty result plus u get usb port flash light and compressor for ur tire

@@waribra599 This product has nothing inside which can break in time. It has no internal batteries, it has ZERO serious things which can fail and can be used LIFE-LONG and very robust! In the video (and comments if you read) the battery was SEVERLY Depleted+It was WAY OVER IT'S CAPACITY and STILL managed to make it WORK later on. After few years(Max 10yrs if lithium batts are used), your Stanley will go into landfill, this product will keep on working and working and working with no issues....
