Good trick doing it with the light bulb… also a lot of testers have LEDs inside, what’s not good because it can “trick” the test showing it’s good since LEDs consume less or almost nothing watts.

If one of the two fans is working, should the other be working, also, at the same speed, at the same time? Or is it computer controlled and additive, meaning does only one fan sometimes come on, normally, and the second fan, slower, or only when needed? I've got one of the two fans that is acting sluggish when I first started the car, then stopped completely before the motor warmed up - not sure if this is normal or not. Thanks!
@VinnyMartello Жыл бұрын
I have a 2000 Lumina and the rad fans quit working. I’m thinking it’s a relay or a temp sensor. It’s unlikely that two DC motors would fail at the exact same time.

HEY OZ, i was wondering in cases in which the radiator fan doesn't turn at max speed (needed when in traffic) fan turns but not to its fullest potential. Radiator motor has been ruled out what can be the culprit? this is for a chevy malibu 2019 similar to your chevy equinox design but in a malibu application (less space) any help would be appreciated.
@OzMechanics2 жыл бұрын
I’m just going off of memory from older Chevrolets, the max won’t turn on only if it gets to about 240 degrees. Is the car overheating
@oscarzurita94642 жыл бұрын
@@OzMechanics the transmission is overheating because 2019 Chevy Malibu uses the radiator for cooling the transmission (a little mini radiator in the big radiator) so when in traffic and the fan needs to be a my full blast it’s not and the transmission overheats (only overheated twice)

I have a same issue with my fan not working, so when i turn on the car the fan doesn’t spin and when i turn the ac it takes about 15 second to make the fan spin and it works for about another 30-40 secs then it turns off again and it stops spinning it does it a couple times on an off ? what could be the cause of that? Im planing on replacing the hole cooling sistem on it but just for future references if i can get some help ill appreciate it guys🙏🏼
@davidb7180 Жыл бұрын
You provided no info about your vehicle to get a specific (or close as you can on the interwebs) diagnosis. But I would say that your ac high pressure switch is kicking on/off the ac clutch which in turn is turning the fan on/off.

Just jump the relay to the fan, that should tell you if the wiring and fun it self is working or not
@OzMechanics3 жыл бұрын
What happens if you jump the relay and it fires up, what do you do then ? And the relay is not the issue. It’s always good to properly diagnose a vehicle right and go through every step. Thanks for watching.

@@OzMechanics So did you end up just crimping the Butt-connector to bypass the burnt connectors? I have a connector that looks the same and was just going to cut the wrong plug connector on new fans I bought and the harness connector and straight wire with butt-connector instead of the plugs. I have a question if you can help me. I have a 2015 Traverse and I changed the radiator fan and once the new fan was installed it worked very well but the next day it blew the fuse of fan 2. and I changed the fuse and it blew it again, do you have any idea why? Does the fuse burn and only one fan works and the temperature rises a little but only when it is in parking or without walking the truck?
@OzMechanics2 жыл бұрын
Hey there Jose. So normally what causes a fuse to blow is too much current when something is overworking itself or there’s a short. I would probably look for a short first because you did replace the fans already. Here’s a video I made on looking for shorts. Hope this helps kzbin.info/www/bejne/bV65m3psr9mBfZo

You know a test light is not the right tool to use, you need a multimeter to measure the voltage
