Ozone 11 - Is it worth the upgrade ? A quick look

I got myself Ozone 9 when it came out. It is a great learning tool for someone who makes his own music at home. I jumped on board with Ozone 10 as I felt that the features they added were worth the upgrade. Now, after I learned a thing or two all I use from this suite is Stabiliser and Maximiser. There is not that much of an improvement for me in Ozone 11 to justify such a steep upgrade price at this point. I'll be waiting 'till next year for Ozone 12 and then will see if it's worth it.

Ozone has become the iphone of the plugin world. Sensible people will not be rushing into this.

Got my first introductio to Ozone for $149 this black friday. I really enjoyed Tonal balance during the trial, and wanted to try it out more!

Yep, I came to same conclusion too. I did 9 (Advanced) to 10 for £140 a year ago. I'm not doing the same again to go from 10 to 11. £70 for the few extra features? Maybe. But not £140 again. :(

I'm in the same boat as you. I upgraded from 9 to 10 but am put off by the price for the 10 to 11 upgrade. I was certainly thinking about going for it but I've done a lot of research and the number of real changes to the quality of the end result does not justify $149 for Oz 11. The Clarity module does intrigue me, though. But like you, I'll probably wait until 12. Thanks for the great video!

Yeah, as a 10 Advanced user, I came to the same conclusion too. Simply didn’t seem like a proper upgrade. More like a 10.5 than an 11. And not cool that I could’ve stayed on 9 and got the same upgrade price to 11. Makes little sense. Digital companies need to reward loyal fans, rather than take advantage of fan’s eagerness. Only so far that ethic can be pushed before you lose your fan’s loyalty.

I totally agree. I was surprised to see 11 come out so quickly after 10. I'd pull the trigger on $99. $149? ...not so much. As a loyalty offer, it's kind of insulting if you already went from 8...9...to 10.

Im with you all the way, my purchase was less than a year and felt so strongly that I complained. No response at all and I definitely won’t spend any more with Izotope.

Yeah, same here, I'm still on 9 standard, have no need to upgrade to 11. It's kinda becoming like a yearly software tax with these companies. BS really.

Bought it....the CPU penetration is immense, I agree. And I have a fast iMac machine, too. Makes me regret that I have bought it. Same with the price.

I Upgraded From 10 ADVANCED To 11 ADVANCED but that was because i Purchased the 229 Dollar Loyalty Deal Which Gave Me PRODUCTION SUITE 6, Which Also Included Nectar 4 Advanced and Guitar Pro 7... It's An Early BLACK FRIDAY For Me.😁 That Being Said, The Ability to Take A Decent Mixed Down Stereo Track (2 TRK) and Stem Focus It after The Master Assistant Does Its Thing, Then Set The True Peak And Learn The LUFS Level That Suite Its Genre... Whalah...Very Acceptable RADIO READY MASTERS... Worth The Money All By Itself OZONE 11 Is. FACTS!

I Paid 179 For GullFoss About 3 Years Back and Ozone 11 Advance Is GullFoss On Steroids', Then Add Serato Stems and EQ's That Rival Fabfilter's also Let's Not Forget That Assistant... Ca'Mone Mannn Who We Kidding. It's Beyond Worth It. I just Got Spoiled.

Yeah - I already HAVE Neutron 4 Advanced, and Guitar Rig Pro 6. Upgrade price is exactly the same! I am now working towards weaning myself OFF of iZotope products.

They are now using the same stupid and annoying pricing model that NI use. For example if you use Komplete it costs the same to upgrade from Komplete 9 to Komplete 14 as it does from 13 to 14. The sale price is on an upgrade is $141 (and used to be $189). No, I think not!
