In my opinion you are the best reviewer \ demonstrator of all - well done. I love my RV 5.

What a great demonstration video like always Ben. How windproof after these thents compared to a Blackwolf Turbo tent? I'm looking for something durable to handle around 180 days straight off camping with all types of unexpected conditions but wind could be the toughest test as I will be camping on the coast also. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.
@SnowysOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
I'd personally probably go an RV over a Turbo tent for your long term touring. Its Bens choice, and also Kevin who you may have seen in other product reviews or podcast episodes. He used his RV for a 6 month straight tour, setting up and packing down everyday. Check out our episode on dealing with wind and rain for more tips: www.snowys.com.au/blog/podcast-wind-rain-when-camping/ ~ Lauren

The concept has always been great; but with all those guys, poles and fly I don’t think they will be able to call it a 30 second tent. Can the fly stay connected and fold with the tent? Informative video. Cheers...
@SnowysOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
You're right 4BnewB, the 30 second claim can really only be attributed to the inner tent, all the accessories take a little while longer. We have a setup/pack down video which is in the editing phase at the moment, so you'll see that live soon. You can leave the fly attached for pack-up, it makes it all a bit tighter to fit in the bag but perfectly manageable. ~ Ben

Those two pockets up high inside the tent look handy. I've got the Oztent RV-3 and wondering if you can buy them seperately to put into the older model tent?
@SnowysOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
I don't think those particular pockets are available separately, claverton, but they do have a variation available which you can see on our website here - www.snowys.com.au/hanging-bag-organiser. ~ Ben

That opening roof looks like a great idea but .... I can't help but think it must make it more susceptible to the elements. Is there any risk of rain seeping its way in if you're not using the additional fly??
@SnowysOutdoors Жыл бұрын
You would be right to question this, Herbshirt, and I guess it would be more susceptible to the elements than not having it there at all, but the fabric overlaps the zippers adequately to stop water getting in. The only time I can see it being an issue is in heavy wind driven rain, but the addition of the flysheet would help int his situation. I think it's a case of the pro's considerably outweighing the con's with this feature, as it adds excellent ventilation which is great to keep the tent comfortable in warm weather and reduces condensation on cold weather. ~ Ben

Hey mate, great review. I was just wondering if you thought that it might be possible to fit in something like the oztrail queen easy fold stretcher with a self inflating mattress as an option for sleeping? or would it maybe come up a little high and be a tad squishy?? Cheers.
@SnowysOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
It will probably squeeze in Stewart, but I reckon that will be pretty tight. You are probably best with a larger version like the RV5 if that's how you want to camp. ~ Ben

Will it hold in extreme wind and weather?
@SnowysOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Mine has kept me protected is some pretty serious winds and tropical storms, as long as you pitch it correctly and add extra guy ropes and pegs to compensate for extremes then it will definitely hold in extreme weather events. ~ Ben

Any experience with how these tents handle snow load if I get 30cm of snow overnight will these hold up well?
@SnowysOutdoors Жыл бұрын
They aren't specifically designed to handle snow load, the large flat sections will likely allow it to accumulate. If you were to get 30cm of snow you'd probably want to be clearing it off now and then to make sure the frame isn't damaged. ~ Ben

Which oztent stretcher would be ok?
@SnowysOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
The stretcher I used in the video was the Oztent RS-1S stretcher, Alex, which you can see details/dimensions of here - www.snowys.com.au/rs-1s-king-single-stretcher-series-ii. This will fit cross ways as indicated in the video, but if you want more space inside then you would be best going for the Gecko Stretcher - www.snowys.com.au/gecko-stretcher-series-ii. However, even this will be a very tight fit if you want to put it in lengthways. ~ Ben
