Yep, I’m 50 now and I’m over crawling out of a small tent to take a piss. An RV4 with a stretcher bed will make old age a lot mor comfortable!

When you pack it up after you fold A and B together. Roll the tent towards the point .you will find it will pack up thinner. Keep on camping

Great video. The RV3 is a really good tent. I can put it up inc the awning by myself. If you are going to get one, highly recommend getting the fly for it and the annex kit (side panels and front panel). Makes a lovely extra room
@thewild1860 Жыл бұрын
Have had our RV3 for 10 years. Best bit of kit we have had. For 4 straight years it was set up semi permanently in all sorts of wind and weather. Quality kit. We leave the fly on as it zips away in bag. Only time we ever had condensation was without the fly in rain. We have all the extra panels too, to make an additional room. This is brilliant but a pain in the backside to set up so only if staying a few nights.

Great video mate! I have 2 x RV5's that I have used for the last few years, and I couldn't be happier! I ditched the 3 x 3 Dome (and extension) tent in favour of these. I attach the two together via the awnings, and we have a huge undercover area for when the weathers bad. The only negative would be the 2m long bags, but I have a Patrol with a big roof rack so it's no problem for me. Kids in one, wife & I in the other - works like a charm! Greetings from South Africa!

I like your setup. But most probably I will use the tent as a living/dining room while the swag as a sleeping platform or bedroom. Thanks for the great review.

Thanks mate. Ive been looking for a solution like this. I have the 30 second awning (Stormchaser) and was about to get the tent they have. Not sure how robust it would be. This looks the goods though. Thanks again

if you hang corks from strings attached to the brim of your hat it will help keep the flies off
@loubylou18102 жыл бұрын
I will add though that the 30 second thing is a tad misleading. Yep, you can put the main tent up in 30 seconds for sure, but if you're doing the pegging, annex and fly it will take longer. Probably 15-20 mins for 2 people. It's currently taking me over hour by myself (still getting used to it)
@leithal15462 жыл бұрын
The 30sec tent which takes 15min to put up. I have the RV5 great tent. A spreader bar for front of awning is a great addition keeps nice n taut. Yeah it’s like saying I have a 10 second swag.

How the heck do you get it off the roof rack, oh and then put it back?

Hi mate. Check out the recent Hay River Track in the Simpson Desert episodes. There are a few shots showing that exactly. It’s pretty easy really. We get the swag and tent up in seconds. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers 🤙

If you lean it on your car, you can use the car to take the weight and push it up from the bottom using the car. Similar taking off, slide it down the car.

Good vid mate. Can i ask if u can zip it onto the 30 sec awning? We hav the 30 sec awning tent n its pretty ordinary, thinkin this may b an option.

I really wish they would make a version that collapses in half the length, I love the idea of this tent but just too freaking long if you don't own a large SUV
@searching4adventure Жыл бұрын
Yes. One of the negatives for sure. It has been a great tent though. Takes a bit more than 30 seconds obviously but really happy with it. Thanks for watching.

Would love to see you leave it as setup in 30secs to sleep and camp with for the duration of your camp. A 30 second tent it is not !!!!!!! I have owned my two oztents for over 15yrs!

Don’t zip the tent when you unpack so it will be much quicker when setting up

I've had one for a couple of years and I don't rate it. The '30 second tent' that takes an hour to setup and takedown. The shape is awkward, it's too heavy and way overpriced. It's only suitable for base camp trips. You'll be tearing your hair out if you move everyday. If I had to buy a tent again I'd get a Blackwolf that can at least fit inside your wagon, and not have to be lifted up onto a roof rack and then tied down. While you can set the basic frame up in 30 seconds in reality you should roll out a groundsheet to protect the very thin base material, then the awning poles set up with ropes and pegged down, then you'll need fly attached and another 6 ropes and pegs, then you'll need camp stretchers or a blow up mattress setup, and finally all your bedding and stuff. Frankly not something you'd want to do after a long day on the trail. Unless your camped in one spot for a week or more a RTT is infinetely superior.
