I do all my work with this little fella. After the fire, everything went nuts on the fresh growth. There are many kinds of rabbits out there you know?...small grey rabbits, red rabbits, black rabbits and the big eastern grey jumping rabbits.

Agreed and it does a very good job at it too!

Thanks for the video! I'm a new shooter and just bought a LA101 in .22LR to get started learning to shoot. Nice to know I'm starting off with a good calibre.

Thoughts on doing a .270 Winchester review? It’s a great caliber in Australia
@theoxmountaingang25854 жыл бұрын
I was just about to comment the exact same thing I'm looking to get my deer license here in Ireland and I want to get the perfect gun as it's a pain in the hole to change guns or buy new high caliber guns
@Kman31ca3 жыл бұрын
@@theoxmountaingang2585 IMHO that would be the 270. With the right bullet, it'll take down anything you'll need it too. I've used it in Western Canada for decades and it drops Elk, Moose, etc. Low recoil, and just has a knack at dropping animals right where they stand.

Well said. I wish I had a dollar for every time someone has said "22lr/Rimfire cartridges smelll nice' when discharged, possibly another 'pro' for the 22?

Not wrong, can't say the same for eely ammo though
@AussieMaleTuber4 жыл бұрын
@@2450logan The Winchester Australia rimfire is the best smelling... but they stopped making it ? last year. Winchester American reminds me of Detroit in the winter when the winds are blowing over the sewage works, but they seem to shoot straight in old Betsy!

I went straight to the 22 magnum the extra cost of ammo is a small price to pay for 400+ feet per second;-) and more punch for those foxes 🦊

Thanks for these, I look forward to the series. I do feel like I want a bit more info tho. Have you thought of maybe making up so ballistic gel and shooting it with the various calibers you are talking about? Maybe at various distances? Would show how well or poorly a round penetrates

The ultimate fudd round, I was once told "why would you even need to shoot center fire when you can shoot .22?" When I lamented that we can't own 9mm pistols anymore

Any chance of a 30-30 review and your opinion on whether 150gr or 170gr is better. Cheers

I have an old single shot Lithgow it's a tackdriver every hole touching at 50m I love it it's one of my favourite rifles and it's put more meat on the table than any other gun I own mind you that might have to do with the fact I use it for all my home kills 😂

And maybe an air rifle. Because they still work at the right distance and who can argue with a tin of 500 pellets for about $10

@@sarnginthebrave3285 And a 22magnum! I used to take the 22 because it can be quieter on my ears, and I see stuff at 60 or 70m and am risk of only wounding.

@sarnginthebrave32854 жыл бұрын
Haven’t tried toads but have tried on small pests the size of rabbits when caught in cage traps. Shooting point blank to put them down. Was hopeless. Passed straight through chest with 2 shots, still alive. Third shot to the brain did it. But not instantly. They are slow, light weight and have zero expansion. Target only

@@sarnginthebrave3285 never thought I'd actually talk to someone who actually has them. Thanks for the experience! From what I know, they were used in pubs back in Ireland/England for target patrice, like darts, pool etc.

I recon the .22 is great for training but is a bit limited for anything bigger than a rat. Even with Rabbits you need to do head shots for a humane kill as body shots can have them escape down their burrows... They are also bad for richochets
