I think I've done two genuinely awesome physical feats in my life and both times, no observers but me. It's the curse of the average dad - you just can't be seen to exceed your level of non-fatherly expectations. Sure, snatch a toddler from in front of a car or whatever, superdad reflexes still apply, but slip on some icy stairs and pull a cartwheel instead of breaking your ass? No way.

I agree that the manager in the first clip kept his composure well during an emergency situation like that. However, please don't consider this a well executed usage of the Heimlich Maneuver to aid someone when they're choking. This gentleman is squeezing and compressing this young man's chest which is both highly dangerous as well as ineffective for choking. For the Heimlich Maneuver a fist should be placed on the abdomen covered by the open palm from your other arm, with both arms used for sharp forceful squeezes upwards into the abdomen.

Some of the worst abdominal thrusts I've seen but hey if it works. Yeah, i was gonna comment the same thing myself. Guy was like squeezing too high and thrusting his hips People need to remember that the goal is to place a fist just above the navel and drive the thumb-side of your fist (or that chair mentioned above) up and in like you are trying to get UNDER the rib cage to force air up out of the lungs. It is pretty violent and brutal when done right; breaking ribs is not uncommon. But that's okay because it beats choking to death.

Two old cowboys are sitting at the bar in the Longview(Alberta) Hotel. A beautiful woman comes in, sits down at a few chairs down the bar, and orders some food. As she eating, she aspirates some food and starts to choke. Its obvious that she is in some distress. One of the cowboys, set down his beer, goes over, pulls down her pants and give her a big slurp with his tongue on her backside. She is so shocked she coughs up the blockage and regains her breathing. The cowboy walks back to the bar, sets down and takes a sip of his beer. His buddy says "I've always heard of that Hindlick maneuver, but thats the first time I've seen anyone do it."

the thing the guy did that saved the dude from choking on food is that you grab them from the back and put your fist on their upper side of belly and put your other hand on your fist and start pushing it in and upwards till it hits the bottom of their ribs, you have to be careful to not put pressure on the ribs itself or you risk breaking their ribs, you have stop pushing and start doing it again over and over when your fist reaches their chest cavity part or their heart, whatever that part is called. the pressure of your fist should start from their belly upwards till it reaches the ribs, to know the exact place watch a guide online. if the choking is not that serious just by tapping on their back it should fix it and tell people around you to eat slowly and chew a lot, if they don't start eating like an animal nothing like this will ever happen in the first place.
