reminds me when I was a kid in little league there was such a fence in the outfield of a dubious field, and an outfielder tried to jump and stop a ball from going over. The fence went into his neck below his jaw and out his mouth, and he was stuck hanging on it until firefighters cut away a section of fence and took the fence, with him still attached, to the hospital to remove it. All ended well, but it was an ugly spectacle.

I wish I had video of it-- my brother in law was riding a moped with a kick stand that would drag on the ground. Eventually it go caught in a grate while he was going about 30 mph. The moped obviously went from 30 to 0 instantly. He was launched off the bike, did a somersault in air and landed on his feet unscathed. Extra points-- he had a cup of coffee in one hand and didn't spill a drop.

Motorway speeds are absolutely terrifying up close. That's why speed limits at construction sites always feel so artificially low. They aren't. At legal limits you're doing well over 30m/s. THIRTY METERS EVERY SECOND.

@@DamnedSilly Umm the entire purpose of a skate park bowl is to launch yourself into the air. Even if not trying to jump the fence, momentum could carry some poor kid into a disaster, it's a terrible design at a skate park where people are over eager and going airborn.
