Turns out, your air intake is usually rather low in the engine bay, and when you suck none-compressing water into a cylinder trying to compress its contents 10:1, you will develop new engine sounds and lose a lot of HP and torque. :p

It looks more dangerous than it is, water is not a good conductor so the guys were not in much danger, worst case they blow the fuses if the computors get wet. i know that sounds wrong, but think of this, it is common to use arc welding under water, yet the divers doing the welding don't get electrocuted, the electricity takes the shortest path, in welding from the stick to the metal, in the case of the computers it is between the electrical terminals in the computer of monitor.

Idk don't ask me. I could have been one of those guy when my Granpa(owner of building) tried to fix a leak on a pipe holding by a threat just below the Main Valve... he ended up shearing in half the remaining of the pipe. It took ~1h30minutes for city worker to come and close the city's valve. By then the lowest part of our basement had ~15mm of water. I moved my desktop pc. Didn't want to risk it.

I'm pretty sure they don't. comprehensive coverage usually takes care of "acts of god" (i.e. those cars that were already parked on the street when the flood waters rose) but it would be the same as someone crashing their own car - it wouldn't fall into the liability, collision, or comprehensive categories.

It floods here a lot in my part of Texas. When I was younger my uncle would always make me walk in front of the truck to see how deep the water was. It's a wonder I was never swept away or drowned.
