Randy Rhoades was a guitar god. The bassist is an amazing musician in his own right, his name is Rudy Sarzo

What a tragedy. Randy Rhoads and Eddie Van Halen battled it out in Los Angeles. It was said the only guitarist Eddie was envious of was Randy Rhoads. Both were classically trained from childhood. Randy's mother owned a music school. Randy taught there. The bassist, Rudy Sarzo, taught bass at the school. He was in Randy's Quiet Riot, the band that battled Van Halen. Randy convinced Ozzie to hire Rudy who later when on to further fame in Blue Oyster Cult and White Snake. .

Randy was soooo different because while other rock stars were partying while on tour...Randy would take the time out in nearly every city that they would play in to seek out classical guitar teachers so he could increase his knowledge in his craft! No matter how great he was...he was always seeking to be better!

Dad was the bass player for Steppenwolf and Randy used to come in and visit and chat with him after going to Valley Arts Guitars in the SFV on Ventura Blvd. Dad said Randy was a great human and gentle soul - you are 200% correct we missed out on so much more to come!

Great video in every respect. Only classical guitar players plays the fretboard like he does. In every city they played in he would find a guitar teacher and get a lesson. He said everyone has something to teach him and he had something to learn from them. Amazing. And, his guitar is almost bigger than him but it doesn't matter. And yes, Rudy Sarzo on bass is amazing and he has played in so many bands because he is a very steady player. Liked the video!

Not sure how I missed this reaction video, but neither here nor there... found it now. While I am not the biggest fan of Ozzy's vocals on this one, the guys did not mess around on this one! Amazing talent, like you said, gone too soon

It might sound odd but Gary Moore and Randy were the two guys I know that can count like that....you have to count the notes...and realize this is a 16th or a 32nd...etc...but to mix melody with it...and poor Ozzy looks scared till Randy let's loose...just a crazy situation.

No, Randy is extremely difficult to emulate. He did things to music theory that's not supposed to work. Unreal. Him and Mozart are the same tier.
