There are a lot that do. But some don’t fully understand the actual value of his music. Flawless, expressive, nuanced, creative, experimental. When you really get the kind of talent Randy had and exactly how innovative and creative the stuff he was doing was, from an actual music theory standpoint… it’s absurd. The guy was a musical powerhouse way ahead of his time. He was so much more than a metal guitarist. He was a full blown composer.

2:20 is intense. That's actually my favorite part of the solo. Randy just shredded pentatonic lightning fast and it's just badass. Need to work on my picking hand though, for sure.

Wow!! Thank you for posting this. Great playing. Great tabs. Great camera showing all the craziness going on with the left hand. This has always been my favorite Ozzy and Randy song. Randy’s solos and runs showcase his classical training. I’ve chipped away at this song for years but never got some of the complexities that your post very clearly illustrates. Thank you!

Precision here is insane. Treating the solos like classical compositions. Rhodes improvised around those ideas but never sounded same. First solo was especially impressive.

If only I had a dime for every different way that I've seen 2:20-2:25 tabbed out. I really appreciate all of the video's and tabs made available online for us all, but I really wish that part would get refined and narrowed down to one way that it's actually played so I know which one to nail down note-for-note. Even the tab books published by Cherry Lane differ depending on which book you get.

Hi I usually listen to the 1981 live version of this song played by Randy, and the 13th note of bar 57 (the 12th fret of the high E) onwards to the end of that bar seems very different from the live recording. Is it the same note played on a different string? Or were the studio recordings played differently? It seems like Randy slowly progressed up the scale whereas you suddenly jumped up 2 and a half steps. That took me by surprise cos the rest of the song was played very nicely.
