@@violentJJ2112 I mean Randy and Zakk are great………..I mean, yeah, you know, they’re great….. But…. The guitar playing on the Ultimate sin album….. It’s uh…it’s unbelievable. He’s uh…he was a major influence on Warren Demartini’s guitar playing, like they were roommates and they both transferred their own skills to each other… So without Jake E. Lee, there would be no ‘RATT’. There would be a band called ‘RATT’, but there would not be ‘RATT’. Jake is one of the top, top, top, greatest 1980s heavy metal guitarists on par with George Lynch. And Jake didn’t sell himself out. To this day, Jake dedicates himself to his guitar playing. He doesn’t care about the money. Jake E. Lee is a TRUE. Musician. A professional. A genius. He dissected guitar tone all the way down to the orientation of the pickups. He loved Jimi Hendrix’ tone, and concluded that Jimi played upside down, so the pickups were slanted backwards, and thus Jake determined that he could get more bite/sharpness out of the ‘EAD’ strings, and more thickness from the ‘GBE’ strings, if he had his pickups slanted the way Jimi’s were. He had smaller hands, so to make up for not being able to reach as far of frets as Warren, Jake said, “I’ll just use my thumb”. Same with his bending the neck to mimic a whammy bar. He didn’t want a bar because he didn’t like the tone.

THIS era : 1982 thru 1989 was really the last of the great Hard Rock/ Classic Metal .....and well, pure Rock N Roll ... for the music industry . After 1990 it all went to shit . The early mid 80's was a fantastic time for Rock

I hate that our country uses fads and "year decade era" as timelines for how they get rid of one style or era of music and then usher in another style......I say theirs enough room for everyone no matter if you are a 50's , 60's , 70's , 80's 90's , early 2000s , 2010-2020.......I just shouldn't matter.

@@Eddie-In-Las-Vegas it's all about the money corp. profits, advertising profits etc.. The audience for the era of real Rock N Roll are either dead or aging out of the targeted ages to sell new music to. That's why modern music sucks , is so shitty and virtually has NO integrity - and they certainly don't make the money like they did then :dollar for dollar w/inflation taken into account. A new rock band now, makes a fraction of what the Classic bands made. Also, it's so easy to "create" this bullshit new music now (stupid computer/digital crap, pre-constructed beats and infant level "songwriting" , auto tuner etc..). The youngsters' shitty attraction and taste for this shit is the result of dumbing down American minds over the last 20 yrs.

I've always thought jake e lee was really underrated and should be recognized as one of ozzys best guitarist. His personality is awesome too! Ozzy once said he hated the ultimate sin album and wasn't too happy with bark at the moon. These 2 albums helped put him back on track after the loss of randy (diary of a madman) jake never got the respect he deserves. I'd take Jake e lee and his great personality over the foul mouthed spitting on the crowd scuz bug harmonic happy zack wilde!

Me too, me too. Why people gotta hate on Ozzy baby? I saw an interview where Ozzy said that Randy really helped him. He was patient. John had bad self esteem issues (still does). The Sab's (mostly Tony) would not give him the time of day to express his creative talent. Who knows, if Tony wasn't such a bully....? You know, Tony used to beat the shit out of Ozzy in school. One of the main reasons Tony even ok'd Ozzy for the band was because Ozzy had a PA. Ozzy knew that having a PA was going to be a huge factor in being picked, for any band. That is genius right there.

This is one of my personal favorites. JEL is laying down a dynamite freight train load of lead rhythm filled with blistering colour throughout. Just when you think its over he delivers a blinding outro - yet its all so so tastefully done. Speed, technique, musical taste, imagination. A rare combo but JEL has it all and then some.

@@orvil9223 Oh, Ozzy knew. Jake says that Ozzy said to him "I had to screw you Jake. That's how the business works." Saw this tour at Bloomington's Met Center. Great show with Motley Crue opening on their Shout at the Devil tour. Good seats, $15.

Awesome song but in Bob Daisleys book he mentions that he nor Ozzy were referring to the George Orwell book 1984 in the lyrics and at the time never read it or knew much about it. Yeah right, I’m not buying that for one second lol. Daisley just “happened” to write about the various ministries himself, no way hahaha.

Jake is a great guitarist I agree he had his own sound what it takes in the music business. I would've like to see some of these guys get together and jam some . I'd put Jake , chriss oliva who passed away Vito bratta and some others see what they'd come up with . Guitarists who had their own sound they're so many that fit that description . Plan and simple great guitar players I'd pay to see that . Keep Rocking people and remember if it ain't Metal it's Crap !!!!

The 1980's was a terrible time for Ozzy's hair. He had middle-aged older lady hair.
