@Dylan Gruenloh you are 100% correct. He never wrote his own music. He was always good, at least in the early days, in surrounding himself with very competent and talented musicians. Ozzy owes a tremendous debt to Randy Rhoads for even having a solo career. But perhaps the MOST overlooked person who contributed to Ozzy's music and success is Bob Daisley. Guy wrote ALL the lyrics and melodies and arranged the bulk of Ozzy's material up through the 90's. Look for Daisley's book, "For Fact's Sake" for confirmation. I'm not saying that Ozzy isn't talented. He is, in his own way. He's more of a showman than anything. Those first two, even three, albums of his will ALWAYS be near and dear to my heart. But the primary people who wrote "his" music have been snubbed and trampled on. And it ain't Ozzy. See his wife, Sharon, the daughter of Satan himself. lol

An easier explanation is that when Ozzy is singing, he has to project his voice more while the music keeps him to a certain pace. That effectively prevents him from talking too fast and/or mumbling.
