I just got this kit today and built it as well, it's such a cool kit so much to it while also not having the problem of there being left over weapons that you have to store somewhere. I am happy to add this to my GM army and honestly it's my favorite.

Remove the backpack and look at the slot on its back. I just noticed it on both of mine trying to figure ways to customize. The slot is the same as on the pale rider and other rider kits. That connector piece for the extra equipment fits perfectly. The backpack is even designed for the perfect amount of room underneath to add extra equipment on it. Check it out in yours. They didn’t mold that in for no reason. Variants are definitely coming.

@@mj2005gundam I don’t know if there were any that used that brace but maybe it may be a different type of piece because the black dog variant with the Gundam type head did use duel pistols that came from the back. I think the back skirt but maybe they’ll change it to use a special piece to holster them onto that. Also there are some that used bazookas that may attach back there.

That definitely makes me curious on why they didn’t use the Pale Rider as a base for this thing instead of the GM Sniper II. The Pale Rider has better joints that don’t need to be bootstrapped to give a double joint. Like, if they’re only going to reuse the joints from an older kit, then why pick one specific to the unit’s lineage when you can pick a frame with good mobility? It’s the same thing with the Tristan, though not NEARLY as egregious.

Just built mine today. I originally built the HGUC GM Sniper II back around 2012 and the K9 in 2014 and was underwhelmed both times because the kit felt overall worse than the GM Custom preceding it. Although I was worried about the Spartan suffering due to the lackluster base kit, I'm pretty pleased at the result. The only unmodified joints are the knees and hips, which were probably the best joints on the base kit. The increased articulation in the waist, elbows, and ankles doesn't make it on par with the most flexible HGs or anything, but it's more than enough for the Spartan IMO. It also feels much more solid, especially the wrists. I just took out my GM Sniper K9 to compare and got reminded of how awful the HG 00 polycap wrist sockets were. Also really appreciate how the leg armor no longer clashes with the ankle armor. This feels much more like a late 2010s HGUC kit rather than the disappointing release that was the HGUC GM Sniper II. I did find it funny how Bandai decided to give us an extra hand guard for the original Sniper II right trigger hand when they sometimes don't even give us enough handguards for all the actual hand options on certain kits.

The joints are the only thing that "ages" this thing, since the rest of the kit is brand new. I'm so satisfied with it it's in my top 10 kits of 2022, and I'm glad you echoed that as well

I'm just trying to imagine a Gundam version of the Spartan. The visor could be lifted up, like what the GM Sniper has, to reveal a Gundam face underneath, for starters. And also add in the various GM armaments for additional accessories, as well as the laser bazooka that certain Doms carry to act as the Spartan Laser.

The Federation logo on the chest comes with the kit, but the "117" I stole from the water decals from the Red Giants set, since they're white instead of the gray from the Ground GM

Quite tough. You basically have to use a knife and be careful with it. I pried it out from the top edge, and that isn't the most foolproof way to approach it as it still comes flying off

The Sniper K9's paint is a more pastel green with a bit of army gray, so they're not the same color. Also, the arm attachments are completely different, so the shield of the other Sniper variants will not fit in the Spartan
