That hundreds are comparing covers- Pink to Ann to Gretchen plus a few other vocalists and ofc you’re all free to park your opinions here. For those who aren’t aware this tribute was also for a favorite charity MusiCares. Dave (and the Hawkins family) managed to get 15 of the greatest rock drummers who could make it to LA. Bands reunited for the event and musicians whom Taylor loved and admired were invited to the stage. This night was a gathering of grieving band mates, family, friends and fans. Many seem to be missing the point and get off on trash talking which I have a low tolerance of. Again, please keep your comments respectful.

I don’t see how someone stating a preference is trash talk. I love P!nk’s voice but I prefer Ann’s, does that make her superior to P!nk? Or does is denigrate P!nk’s performance? No it doesn’t. I love it when Musicians just get together and jam. You know we've all listened to each other's music through life. Music is where the heart is. The older generations mapped the roads with music to show the way and teach the younger generations and they took over with open arms to teach the new generations. I am only one person, but I have a treasure trove of memories from so many concerts and pubs, and different places in my head for multiple lifetimes. Crossing every genre from the 70's to present day, all I can say is Thank You for living your lives through music and sharing it with the world as you lived your lives. Gretchen Wilson version is almost an exact copy of Ann’s, so in that sense it is very good and the band with AIC and Nancy is definitely stronger. I think P!nk does a little more to make it her own though and I like that because I can always go back to the original for the best.

@@randicam I'm 60 YO, and one thing I've noticed is that people think a female alto is singing flat when they get into the lower register. I've heard this of Nona Hendryx of Labelle and Mary Wilson of the Supremes, for instance. Ann Wilson is a soprano and Pink is an alto. I find Pink's take kind of interesting and she CAN hit the high notes, even if she usually sings in a lower register. This is Ann's song but Pink did it complete justice IMO.

I think Pink is one of the greatest artists ever, and she certainly does this song justice - but I have to also acknowledge that only Ann Wilson can really sing this song. Her voice is like no other.

Ann is amazing and is next level in the delivery (see the rock hall of fame performance), but Pink did the song proud! So cool. Nancy playing with the rest of the band was awesome as well.

I'm not too familiar with Pink, nor a fan those type of songs. But damn... can she sing! Ann is an amazing singer. But Pink's cover is right there with Ann. Wow!!!
