When I drive to 40-50 mph in my 2002 doge ram 24v the rpm’s start going up and down could this be the cause ? Also when it does that and I floor it it kinda goes away

Yes I had a same symptoms with mine. Try removing that plastic cover off and see how much play is in it shaft. You will see it. With the truck off and holding it at about 1/2 throttle and see if you can wobbel the shaft up and down. If it moves take it apart like I did in this video and tighten it up. Ive been good since I did this with no problems and they want a bunch$$$ for them things new.

I’m having the same problem with my 99, it won’t start sometimes is it the same thing?
