Awesome video. Glad to see them again after their refurbishment, liked how the operator on car 231 at 13:39 minute mark used the high horn at an underground station & for some reason the station chime at 16:58 is music to my ears, never gets old, actually it surprised me to see that they even installed the Metro announcements inside the elevator. Also nice capture of the El Segundo Local, considering the fact it’s also pulling empty lumber cars, that train might have made a quick trip to Gardena, besides its usual route to switching at El Segundo. All in all, excellent work in the making of this video, keep up the great work.

Looks like the Siemens P2000 light rail vehicle units that originally ran the Green Line (C Line) (201-226) have gotten new "quacker" horns added during refurbishment! 1:17 Siemens P2000 LRV car 212 sounded its "quacker" horn as it was crossing Pico Boulevard after departing Pico station in Downtown LA. 21:49 Another Siemens P2000 LRV car 211 blew its new "quacker" horn as it approached San Pedro Street station.

It's possible that LA Metro might have transferred all Siemens P2000 trains from the C Line (Green) to the A Line (Blue) for tourism purposes with the C Line. Because two future train stations near the LAX Airport are opening soon, LA Metro probably wants the future C and K Line reconfiguration to be tourist-friendly with nothing but Kinkisharyo P3010 trains running these lines. The A Line is the only light rail line in the LA Metro Rail system to have three different types of light rail vehicles, since that line is commonly used by residents. The E Line (Expo/Gold) also happens to run nothing but P3010 trains since that line is also meant to be tourist-friendly, but there's a slight chance that some P2000 trains might end up on the E Line too.

I don't think that's the reason. The A line is now the most used line on LA Metro and the longest line, too. Maybe they want to showcase all the different types of cars on the most popular line on LA Metro. A type of advertisement for the public and possibly a nod to train enthusiasts.

Metro did do this so that the 🟢C-Line (Green) can share Kinki sharyos with the 🩷K-Line (Pink) in case they break down or wtv. And yes they did put ALL Siemens on the 🔵A-Line (Blue) (take a look at Metro Rolling Stock list). Theres several reddit posts backing this that I have contributed to.

P2550s are going bye bye, to be refurbished jointly by Kinki Sharyo and AmePower. That's the main reason. Tourist purpose is not a valid concern at all.

This past week, I was finally able to operate the P2000s twice. The first time was fine until the fuse break as I was doing the horn sequence. All the times I was operating north of Union Station. :( I wanna do one going south. Oh, well. Also, we are refurbishing the Breda 2550s, where they are gonna get some upgrades, including reading how fast we're going and destination head signs being upgraded.

Will LA Metro only run 2 car trains once they open the reconfigured K and C lines since the 4 southern station platforms can only accept 2 car trains? I know they plan to extend the platforms on those 4 stations, but I don't thin it has been done yet and the reconfigured lines are supposed to open in about a month or so.
