Excellent video. Thank you for making it! I just replaced the valve on my 2008 impala. Your video made it an easy job. Funny how the only part on that valve that goes bad is the top valve held on by three screws yet you have to replace the entire assembly.I could not find the valve piece to buy, just the entire assembly. Thank you again.

Excellent - exactly what I was looking for - have a 2010 throwing a P0411 and this code intermittently. Had to replace this valve once before but dealer did under warranty. can't believe it is going again only 60-70000 km later. I run propane so should be cleaner - but engine warms up under gasoline... hence why this is probably clogged. Thanks for the video!

I’m just curious, how did you determine the valve is the issue? I don’t think it’s fair to assume that if the pump is working the valve is the issue based solely on the code. Help me understand, thanks.

Great video, helped me out. I didn’t have a code but it had a high pitched whistle at high rpm on a cold start coming from this valve. Let’s see if that did it

If you don’t have a good scan tool to test the system take the hose off going to the valve and let the engine get cold when the engine is cold enough the air pump will turn on and valve will open when you start the engine cold. If the code says it’s stuck open take the valve off and try to blow through the valve if you can it’s bad. Generally with this code that valve is bad but your best off to diagnose it so you don’t waste ur money on parts that aren’t necessary.

What are the symptoms if this valve is stuck closed but its not throwing a code? Mine starts up cold as if it is flooded. I've checked everything else... wondering if this valve is sticking closed but not throwing a failure code... and it only starts up porly when it is cold and has been sitting overnight. When its warm, its fine.

How you got the camera down to those two bolts i dont know lol, did you look at the old one to see if it could be cleaned/fixed, muck kills everything :-( Another smashing job done :-))

It was a little tight getting the camera down there but it was worth it to show those nuts i thought.I took the valve apart and there was less muck than i thought.The code has not reappeared so i say it was a successful fix.

replaced mine about a year ago....cel came on again p2440..removed and disassembled the valve...Was water in...side,cleaned,assembled..all fixed..Didn't want to shell out another $160 for some scammers emission.part

I had a code p2430 first so I changed that the value pump and secondary pump both brand new now code p2440

My 2000 dodge intrepid just won't start. I was smelling fuel, and it stalled a few times before. Gas mileage was getting worse.check engine light was always changing from week to week. One person thinks ignition coils, another thinks fuel pressure regulator. Idleing was bad. Engine cranked at first and idle for a few seconds and cut off. Engine sounded flooded. I also would hear a clicking from one of the ignition coils. Anybody got any advice

Lol don't drop it. That 10 is precious on impala. I dropped something doing a camshaft sensor on the 07 ls4 v8. The Supersport. Anyways, something fell. 🤪 I freaked out looking for my 10 and 8. Lmao. All my tools were there. No idea what happened.
