I’ve been playing Ken ever since I watched this guide and my god he’s so fun to play and I feel like a menace with the range and pressure he provides. Only problem is now I can’t play anyone else because I have too much muscle memory 😂

Love to hear that! And yeah that’s when you know you’ve found a main lmao. When you literally can’t play anyone else

It's nice looking back at this Ken was my first character when starting ultimax and remains my favorite alongside Naoto and Rise.

Ken just has so much sauce with the Koro combos, always fun

I'm not really big into fighting games, or competitive game in general. But my friends and I have been going through the persona games one by one and to bide time until p5 releases for pc and whatnot we've been playing through p4au's story and then after we hit a good stopping point, we all play a few rounds against eachother. The character I was first drawn to was Ken because we had a lot of jokes about him and I like both him and Koramaru, my beginners luck carried me a long way and I won quite a few matches, but as my friends actually practiced a bit and were getting actually good at the game I still lagged behind. Tonight I decided to look up a guide on Ken to learn a bit more about him other than spamming auto combos and launching Koramaru like a rocket a million times. Through this guide I have learned, getting good at fighting games is not my thing, I couldn't even get the most basic of combos down, and seeing the giant insurmountable wall of executing Ken's combos in front of me I've just decided to shrug my shoulders and go back to what I was doing but implementing some of the very basic stuff that I learned along the way. I primarily play to have fun and grinding out and mastering intricate combos down to a specific frame or two is not fun to me. Don't get me wrong this is a fantastic guide, and it is obvious that a lot of hard work and effort was put into this, it's just the problem of fighting games are not for me. Keep up the good work, people like you who make tutorials for games like these are godsends for those who are just starting off and those who want to improve.

Nothing wrong with not being compatible with fighting games fam BUT, if you do ever wanna give another shot to learning Ultimax then definitely try a better beginner character, I recommend Minazuki or Kanji. Ken isn’t difficult per say, but his combos are some of the most challenging in the game and require days of practice just to get the first few optimal ones down. He’s not actually representative of the learning curve of fighting game characters.

Somehow, Ken was the first character I picked up and he somehow just clicked with me perfectly? Like, I consider myself very middling at fighting games, but I was able to do Ken's challenge 25 with very little issue. I can't even get to challenge 25 on some characters! Crazy how such a hard character just worked perfectly for me, but we take those!

It’s a magical thing when the first character you pick is exactly what hits. Are you by any chance experienced in tag fighters at least 👀 Most people struggle with characters like Ken cause Kirk is functionally like calling an assist in combos like you do in Marvel

@@JayPhoenix Well, I did play BBTAG for a good while, so I do have a good bit of experience! It's funny to me how the main character I gravitated to when I got P4AU turned out to probably be one of the harder character to get down properly. But, hey, if it works it works!

Great guides so far, watched all of them in this batch, though why not play the characters' themes instead of the game's title song?
@JayPhoenix2 жыл бұрын
You know that’s a great question 😅 Gonna use that idea for the advanced guides! Thanks

Hell yeah, these vids are AMAZING for us new players. I'd love to see an Aigis one, but nobody plays her so it'd be irrelevant lol. Labby or Chie would be great to see though, they're great for new players : D

the opening of this video was a little funny considering how this was the character i just started with today lmao, i find him super fun but yeah maybe i should play someone else, i also wanted to play liz but she looked far harder so i went with disjoint boy and his dog
@JayPhoenix3 ай бұрын
@@Iamverykarpy 😆 Liz is indeed pretty difficult haha Ken is probably the right mix of hard to play and clear game plan though so if you stick with it, the learning curve isn’t toooo wild
