I think you have demonstrated very clearly that you do not need a monster size adventure bike to have an adventure! Superb video all round. Looking forward to your in depth review - might be getting one as a second bike for the muddy local lanes where i live and non motorway rides.

Thanks Glendon. Where are you located, if you don't mind? We'll have to wait and see how well the Himalayan tackles more rough terrain in Alaska. 🏞🏕

@@KARMAkazeMoto Hi, I am in the UK - Norfolk. Very rural with narrow lanes and a lot of mud on the roads from big farm machinery. A fair number of what are called green lanes in the UK as well. Once out of Norfolk most of the UK is crowded with heavy traffic and a lot of freeways. to do a long journey, say to Scotland - 500 miles - would mean either a lot of freeway slog or a longer trip using byways.
@steveebee50846 жыл бұрын
use byways take your time freeway sucks - I am from Yorkshire speaking US dunno why
@KARMAkazeMoto6 жыл бұрын
Are you thinking the Himalayan would do the trick there after watching my video? Sounds to me like it might do the trick, especially if the freeway speeds are not too fast.
@13thearl6 жыл бұрын
@@KARMAkazeMoto The problem with UK freeways is they are only two or three lane and the traffic load is always at capacity - bumper to bumper in three lanes. This would not be so bad but the standard of driving has plummeted in recent years from poor to appalling, largely because we no longer have many traffic police to enforce the highway code. Consequently I am not happy on the freeway with anything that cannot get out of trouble in an instant - my Tiger 1050 does this so a Himalayan would be strictly for off road or minor roads. It looks to be perfect for that - only questions are build quality and reliability.

Brilliant easy to ride bike, really relaxing, i arrived at the Motorcycle Center in Clifton Street Belfast which is a Royal Enfield Dealership around 9.45am, took their test bike out for a ride which has around 5000 miles on the clock, drove from the shop along the Antrim road to Glengormley, then on to Templepatrick and then to the International Airport, headed back via Nutts Corner, Belfast Road, Upper Crumlin Road, then down the Shankill Road, onto Peters hill, then turned right which took me back to the shop, there was a fine drizzle of rain , the Himalayan handled great, top speed was 75 up to 80 MPH, great into the corners, i then decided to do a deal and trade-in my BMW R1100S, i also drive a Vespa 300 GTS ABS Super Sport, i had not been using the BMW much but that Himalayan put a smile on my face, brilliant relaxing bike, thanks for your reply and interest, i should have my new white ABS Himalayan this week, hopefully some day i will do a video, i often watch that trip you put on KZbin when you got your bike, AWESOME and thanks again, Paul in Belfast.

To all the people who like bikes and particularly higher power bikes, would you like this or any other royal Enfield for what they are?.. No, you won't.. But you would love them.. These bike have a nice understatement to it on a very personal level.. They maintain a level of modesty, something that will never be striking, because its a relationship between the man and the machine.. You will use it and you will depend on it, its all about the journey as far as this bike is concerned, not the destination..

I was really looking forward to this video, thanks! Would you mind sharing what type of helmet you're wearing? Looks really great!

Thanks Anshal! The helmet is pretty nice. The chin bar can be removed to become an open face helmet. Mine is older. The new model is the Nolan N44 Evo.

This is probably the best advertising that Royal Enfield could have gotten for this bike. This video helped me to make the final decision to purchase one of these bikes. I think I'll let Royal Enfield corporate know this fact.

Justin does a great job with this 6-part series. He is obviously deft at video production. The versatility of the Himalayan as well as the adventure and beauty of a 3000 mile trip up the Pacific Northwest to Alaska is vividly captured. Makes me want to sell my BMW 1200GS and get a Himalayan.

Thanks for the great video series! I loved watching this over a period of 3 days and I really admire you taking the time to go about putting it all together. I was on the fence on this bike and with your video even though i'm a beginner...i'm picking one up soon. Your style of riding and going about places is exactly what I envision myself doing so thanks again for the really cool video! The ending was a nice touch :)

@@KARMAkazeMoto Looking forward to; and funnily I got really excited because I recognized a lot of those places you rode by when you left Pt.A ;) until you hit Spokane. If you haven't, you should do the Pacific Coast from Sea all the way to San Diego sometime. Worth the adventure.

Would love to do that. Sounds like a good plan for next winter to escape the darkness in Alaska.

These are the videos that inspire many people and proves the value of a bike to everyone. And personally I would say that your 40 mins videos provide much more substance and valuable content than 40x1min videos. Thank you for making such a good series P.S. 19:25 great couple they exactly know some times a person must have serious conversation with himself in the midst of the nature sort out his life 😎

Real epic journey! Amazing views! Almost sad to see it done... You do a great job with the editing! Hope to see a lot more videos of the Himalayan around Alaska... Also, I bet you have a ton of unused footage, could make some unseen highlights from this trip, 10 out of 10 would watch!

Fore sure there will be more adventures in AK with the Himalayan. And I've been thinking about doing a little something with unused footage good idea. Sort of a "cutting room floor" piece. Or maybe section of nice road that I split could be posted as is for the people like just like to watch the ride clean through. We'll see. But I do need to get on with my review, the 3000-mile service, some modifications, etc. Thanks for watching and commenting!
