Love the concept for the shorter bdr loops. Being at a point in my life that time does not allow me to do long routes, these are an excellent option. Thanks for the hard work to make these possible!

Same. Like, I'm old enough to be somewhat responsible... But not so much that I can just leave home for 7 days plus travel to&from. Can't wait for retirement, though.

I remember when Jack laid out the first maps of the Pine barrens 500. My Endurp club assisted him. Jack has done more for legal off-road riding than any other person in New Jersey . Nice guy. Too.

Really like the concept of smaller routes, especially for states that may not be suitable for a full length BDR. If Michigan is ever on the docket, I’d love to help. We have some amazing riding and scenery!

7 mountains dual sport is next weekend, that's a 1 day 100 mile loop, better for 600cc and under bikes. Dirty Dabbers dual sport is a 2 day 100 miles/day trip with an adventure route and a dirt bike loop (that a 600cc can do ok). Look them up, the camping is much easier and food is provided, so cargo is much less of a hassle, you still get great views, awesome trails, more singletrack!

I watched the preview last evening. I love the concept of the BDRX, especially since I only live a couple of hours from here. Pennsylvania has lots of great riding!

One point about the BDR X routes that I didn’t hear mentioned is, they form a loop. That is important if you plan to ride a small bike and trailer it to the BDR. Starting and ending at or near the same place makes trailering the bikes so much easier, compared to the more linear, full sized BDR routes, where the start and end points are several hundred miles apart. There are several established dirt ride routes in northern New England that can easily be spliced together to form a BDR X type loop route of 4 or 5 days riding. I have taken a small group on a 5 Day ride that included the Hampster Route, Bayley Hazen Military Road, Puppy Dog Route (south) and Trans Mass Trail. This was very Big Bike Friendly, but more challenging sections can be found and added by using other established tracks. The point is, it’s very easy to find unpaved tracks of varying condition throughout northern New England (Maine, NH, VT). You could spend several days in Vermont alone, just using the various versions of the Puppy Dog Route, Dirty Dog Route, Bayley Hazen Road, and BDR section 4 & 5.

Did the route recently. Great fun for a new offroad rider like myself. Loved discovering the beauty of the state. If you don't have good mud tires don't do the hard extra routes, it's not worth the trouble. The normal route is great for regular adv tires

My son and I did the loop in two days. That was too much for my 58 yr old bones. Three days would've been much better. We avoided the optional knarly stuff. There was a car rally race in a pretty large section that threw us off the the loop for a while. Was a good time with my son but 2nd day was a little too long. I was ready to get off.

@@crazyhawk99 We will not producing/selling full-size Butler BDR maps for the X routes. We will however be working with Butler on creating 8.5" x 11" maps that will be offered as free PDF dowloads on the BDR wesbite. These can be simply printed-out by riders on a laser printer and tucked into a tank bag.
