I’ve owned a Korg pa4x for years, use it at my gigs. It looks like Korg took away the ec5 foot switch option???? I sure hope not! I use the ec5 to control the drums and fills in real time at ALL my gigs! Is there another option for control of stops, start, fills, a b c d sections with a foot switch of any kind? Man, I sure hope so, or I can’t buy this amazing new PA5!

kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqHNmYxqhbRroJI ... I don't really understand why anyone would use EC5 when there are and have always been MIDI In/Out/Thru ports on the keyboard. EC5 is old school pointless, but look at the video link to solve you switching needs.

My new PA 5x freezes up when I'm trying to record tracks, already did it 3 times ! The software needs work!

No freezes with latest OS update v1.2.1, try installing it.

I've ask several times, in the search function, you can search for e.g. 'sounds or styles or padname' etc, but could you search for a 'chord' , thank you

Can someone please confirm this? Can you edit a style or create one from scratch with functions we’ve had in every previous Pa (delete, quantize, copy, transpose, etc) Can you load your current Pa4x set on the 5x? I’m ok with loading the folders within the “set” separately as long as they work with the 5x. This right here is 100% a deal breaker. All the extra functions features mean absolutely nothing to me if I can’t create a new style with basic functions on the keyboard. I’m pretty sure there are many players that need these functions to work with a pa5x.

korg users, how do you guys connect the keyboard to the computer to use it in the daw? is it possible to get sound from keyboard in to the DAW simply by plugging headphones in or using aux cable with speakers, or do you need an interface.

You can use either the USB device port (do NOT use the USB host ports) to computer OR use MIDI In/Out to Audio Interface connected to a computer.

Yes, but PaAS 2 will not sound very good if you turn up the volume (120 watt total driving 5 speakers = weedy sound).

Unfortunately, there is one more bigger issue with this Keyboard. No one talks about when you insert a sample loop in drum track or percussion track it does not in sync with other tracks. It seems like there is an internal midi clock issue.

I am very concerned about this missing EC5 port. Don't take this possibility away from us, or else find a solution through the usb port. Please. And please don't take away any more possibilities, which we are used to in previous versions.

Man, you sound like you're begging a manufacturer by saying "please" a lot. Manufacturers need the consumers' money so they're the ones who should say "Please buy my product" not the other way around. If they took out an important feature, they're the losers. Now, consumers must be educated to boycott expensive stuff if they're serious. The educated consumer is the KING!

hi, first i want to apologize to everyone for my bad english, i use google translate. I am totally familiar with the korg pa5x. and I found many bugs and missing features. first of all it is an arranger, it lacks a lot of editing features. reproduces them, i.e. harmony nesi recognize the written chords gitar trak so i can continue with the other features missing BACKING SEQUENCE (QUICK RECORD) buttons (ASSIGNABLE SWITCHES) do not work from the first press in global settings (SETTINGS) still they don't work as they should, not to mention there are a lot of bugs, so again there are, but I see many of the colleagues here have mentioned them. I personally expected some new features added, for example one of them is to have a TRANSPOSE in ENSENBLE for each upper part separately, each note from -24 to +24. for each oper separately. SONG SHOULD BE (T) transposed, it would be much better if it was TRANSPOSED. or to be added. The alphabetical order in which the rhythms and performances are placed should be unchecked if we want this thing. Also forgot to mention above in the arranger there should be a check how we want intro 1 to work if it should recognize chords or not it also doesn't recognize the ready rhythms I use from pa 4x there it is. we all expected it to have all features of pa 4x + the new ones that are actually few. for our expectations not to say that it is so expensive and ultimately so little. Thank you all for your understanding once again. I apologize for my bad english. I hope Korg will pay attention to these things if at all anyone will bother to read this post from Korg have a nice day everyone

many years wait for new pa5x. one disappointment the variations buttons are all together. there is no option to create styles from a midi format I'll stay with the pa4x A disappointment. Korg

I’m very disappointed with my korg pa5x , it is just a toy, I paid more than €4300 and it doesn’t worth even a penny, gets freezing all the time , restarts by itself , Im going back to yamaha

Just because it's a live performance machine though, that doesn't mean it can't be used for music production. Just because it's not a Kronos or Nautilus, that doesn't mean that the Pa5x can't be used for those applications.

@@jordanking7711 You just didn't get my deep meaning. Sounds in arrangers (or even Kronos) aren't fit in music production because they are not sampled from live instruments, thus they are unrealistic but this unrealism is acceptable in live performance. The only sounds you can use from these instruments in music production is their synthesis and the piano. You kid yourself if you use its brass, strings, woodwinds, guitars,..etc in production. In addition, the sequencer in these instruments aren't full fledged sequencers like in DAWs. Unlike sample libraries, these arrangers use modeling, not sampling because samples are huge in size. If these keyboards use live samples, the cost would be higher 4 or 5 times and the storage would be 1 TB. Don't take my words for it but put it in practice. Produce a song and submit that song to an exclusive music library or a record label or any publisher. Come and see me when they reject it. Music supervisors have ears and they can spot the fake from the real.

I campionamenti sono al pari di kontakt e altri softwares di campionamento, se non occupano i terabyte che dici è perché hanno dei sistemi di compressione propietari e non te lo vengono certo a dire a te come fanno per cui, in pochi GB riescono ad archiviare dati per centinaia di GB. Quindi prima di sparare cazzate informati!

The Roland Fantom 8 and/or the Korg PA5X both have the potential for the keyboard-player muso (&/or song writer) who learns all their fabulous builtin features to enjoy the best home music studio recording keyboard/s on the planet. Both these zenith 21st century-tech keyboards evidence we’re living in the future! Any skeptic hasn’t owned and recorded with either of these awesome futuristic keyboards! 😉

KORG has nothing in general just copying Roland's and other keyboards' innovative ideas. A piece of assembled product of other brands. That's all and charging a huge price also...

The last " Entertainer" Keyboard from Roland was the G1000. And I loved it! But this is over 10Years ago!!! So what you talking about?

@@MrMartinStark The PAD system from the FANTOM, the WAV.AIF & MP3 player from the GW8 (2008), the WAV exporting from the FA series .. everything ROLAND introduced and still now YAMAHA and KORG selling their products proclaiming as anew.. and levying high charges.
