Thanks for sharing this upbeat start to your passage. Loved the spotted dolphin encounter. And, the wahoo and chili raised my appetite. I am happy to learn that silicone pad tip for the induction plate. Health and peace.

Glad you enjoyed this one! I have 2 of those silicone mats and wish I had a few more. I use them for all sorts of stuff while underway, and they’re easier to clean than the woven nonskid rolls you get at marine stores! :)

Love the knife in the molding! Just a thought, when next you are near a hardware or chancellery, look for hammer head wedges. You may have to ask, but they are usually 2" wide & taper from 3/8" to blade thin made from hickory around here(northeast US). Nice thing, you can adjust the size needed & not worry about a sudden twist & an open knife dropping to your foot. Cause that happens, I can show the scar. 🙄 Hopefully good weather to Panama. Fair winds....

Haha! Yes, shims or cut up pieces of thin plastic cutting boards are our usual fix but we’re out! Just a temporary fix. Hopefully we don’t have matching scars by the time we make it to a chandlery😉

Buy some shims at hardware stores. Then cut off the part that shows, no more creaking.😊

We are too! Our canal transit is at the end of this month, but we’ll likely just hang out near Shelter Bay so we can start our visa paperwork and provisioning.
