I enjoyed this video, just like all of your other videos! 👍🏻🙂

So the stock exhaust was swapped back on. But they didn't swap the manifolds back, due to labour costs. That LSD is an expensive mod, that doesn't really make a difference street driving. Especially on the 2.7.

Based on the state of maintenance good chance the IMS has not been done. I am considering buying a 996 4s cab and asked my Porsche mechanic a quote on clutch, flywheel, IMS, water pump, oil separator, and timing chain guides (best to do all at the same time as as an engine out job). He quoted $7-$8k here in CA, but it may have excluded the cost of the oil fed bearing. The timing chain guides are hard plastic and start to disintegrate due to time. PCA is doing a series on this type of engine out maintenance. The same maintenance I think generally applies to the 996 boxter and is not much cheaper. That is part of the challenge with old boxters - similar maintenance costs as a 911 but do not retain their values as well. I think the boxters are on their way to becoming this era’s 914s or 944s, more cars for enthusiasts who can and are willing to do the maintenance themselves.

I'm pretty sure the "weird little thing" is a ball mount for a cell phone holder or old GPS unit.

I'd say it had different seats, hence the airbag light, standard exhaust fitted, mani's probably too expensive to swap, just threw a set of standard wheels back on it

Eh. I prefer a fixed hardtop. It's why I went with the Cayman.
