I recall the Feb 1989 arctic mess you mentioned. Heavy snow, daytime temps in the teens, and windy. I believe Seattle even bottomed out in the single digits. I remember they stuck Susan Hutchison outside for the KIRO noon news and she looked displeased and not amused.

Thank you for the update this morning. Given that most of the days lately have been below freezing most of the day, the ground is pretty frozen here on the eastside (including ponds and small lakes). Snow would stick on the grass and bare ground quite easily around here.

He hadn't got no snow here in Boise for 2 in all winter and looking at the next 10 days temperature is in the upper 40s on one of my forecast mid-40s and you and I both know with temperatures in the mid-40s we're not going to get no low levels now this has been the least snow this winter I've ever seen and it's really depressing as hell to think we only got 2 inches all Winters got to be better next wiinter cuz we normally average around 15 to 30 in a year here in the valley of course I live up in hidden springs we get a little bit more snow up there because that's in the Foothills that's the only place that I want to live because we don't it's always some kind of excuse or something we can't get no snow down here in the valley just another Lee snow is winter on record and for some reason we we can't get no Arctic air this place has got a lot of issues I work at the Western Idaho fairgrounds at the expo and my boss Gary he told me today he's never seen it like this before ever renew me see about 25 in of snow or winter which is better than what we got now we hadn't had no cold air just inversion are and no snow all winter and I don't think I'm just giving up hope because it's late in the year February is here the days are a lot longer Michael you are the best I will look at you even in the summertime but I just don't think we going to get any snow here and a really bad miserable year for snow and I don't think it's going to happen this year

Been following for a couple of years. I still find some of this confusing without a better understanding of the charts, what the colors and lines represent. I'd suggest link with each vlog that take you to the source of the graphics so that folks can educate themselves as to what they actually mean. You try in you commentary but you move to fast to be able to absorb what you are actually saying. Thank you for this great service.

Nobody knows what’s going on! 😂 My weather app shows rain with nighttime lows below freezing and daytime temps in the 40s. Even sure that’s easily possible, because the clouds would insulate the valley, or everything would be cold enough for snow, or you have freezing rain, but in none of those situations would you have temperatures in the 40s during the day!

If you still believe the global warming narrative hope you see the light soon. Increase in CO2 emissions has created a DECREASE in tropospheric temperatures. Dr. Mass has spoken on this as well.

global warming causes an increase in greenhouses gases like carbon dioxide meaning more heat is lost to space and the upper atmosphere cools. there are new studies on this...also, agreed, there is still time left this winter to correct the snow deficit, however it better turn quickly as the central cascades are 57% normal snowpack equivalent.
