The problem with huge toiletry bags is you still have to pack all liquids in a 3-1-1 bag, so I find it’s easier to use the 3-1-1 and a small makeup bag for everything else and I don’t take as much as I’d use at home. I take minimal jewelry, too, just what will match all outfits. If you’re checking your bag, by all means take a humongous toiletry bag!

True, if i check a bag i organise it properly like a pouch each for make up skin and hair products but if just a carryon then definitely 311 and a small pouch for the non liquids

The divider in your Away bag is to cinch down and compress your clothes…kind of handy if not using compression packing cubes.

Instead of backpack, you might want to try using a duffel bag with a lot of compartments that is really convenient to use esp in storing gadgets like phone, laptop and travel documents passport. Dont' worry, it is small enough that it can fit under the seat. It has become my favorite travel bag.

Judging by the size of some of your toiletries I guess you are checking your bag. We have the opportunity to check our bag but with an hour and a half between flights and a possibility of our first flight being late and having to possibly stay over night in EWR we are carrying on our bag for security of having it all on us. What month did you go to Costa Rica? I have dental work coming up there.

I did check a bag. Super fortunate to get a free checked bag with United due to the credit card I have. I went in August and it was one of my favorite trips. Hope you enjoy your time while you're there!

I like your video. You are not under packing, the suit case is very spacious. I would have put the shoes in plastic bags so the will not get your clothes dirty. Also I like packing cubes at least for my underwear and bras so my clothes are not exposed if the suitcase has to be opened. I would have brought a reusable bag, and a one to put wet clothes and one for dirty clothes.

How long did you go for that you needed large bottles of everything! the key to good packing is to pack light and right! taking a huge amount of bulky stuff is awful packing!that case is bloody massive! you never need to take a case that big for any trip unless you are going to be living abroad and even then they do have shops and laundry over there! You only needed travel sized toiletries for a week as that is enough for 6 hair washes! you could fit that stuff in a large capacity carry on! rolling tightly and neatly into cubes and ziplock bags is how to pack! this seems to be all about the case and the toiletry bag! that case is FAR FAR too big for a short holiday! if you were a good traveller then you would know how to pack correctly!

I personally like to travel with full size products if I can and I get a free checked bag with United because of my credit card. Everyone travels and packs differently. This is just my personal preference :)

@@HannahGraceRiddle But it makes live so smooth and freeing when you don't have to struggle with a huge case! you would never need that much product for a holiday... for example a 10ml pot of foundation or primer or a 10ml vial or tiny bottle of hair oil or leave in conditioner or the same size of fixing spray and spray on perfume will last at the very least two weeks and honestly it will change your life! get the away larger cabin size and still check it in if that is what you like to do then there isn't a limit... as a test humour me and do what i suggested and film it, also cover your shoes in disposible cheap shower caps as shoes in a case is dangerous due to bacteria.. you can get bottles, jars in various sizes, spray bottles, spray bottles, thin spray and roll on bottles, small deodorant roll on bottles etc and see how much product you actually use in a week and double it if you are going for two weeks etc ... if you are going for longer than 3 or 4 weeks you would need to buy more when you are away anyway .... flat bags and packing cubes can be put in upright and that also creates more space ...when you discover that freedom you will honestly never pack in the same way again!
