Thanks for the video, Astrit! So to clarify, when it asks why a recursive static route requires two routing table lookups, it's because it needs both the destination network address (172.31.0.0) and the address of the neighbor (via 172.31.1.193), right?

Hello Ryan, its recursive because the entry on routing table it gives an IP address how to get to the destination, so the router has to do another lookup to find how to get to that IP address from the first lookup. I hope this helps, regards Astrit
