I’m a frequent flyer. If you have a small bladder, always pick aisle seats. Never pick any seats within 5 rows of the restrooms because you have to deal with the smell of people pooping. Window makes the best seats for sleeping but bring an eye mask because first time flyers will open the window while you are sleeping so they can take pictures and do not care if the sun light wakes you up.

First flight in the morning sounds like hell on earth to me--6:00 am flight, arriving at the airport around 4:00 am for an international departure, 4:30 am for a noninternational flight . . . ugh.

I find the earlier flights at my nearest international airport are the worst for security delays and issues, so I sometimes avoid them and opt for flight departing mid morning to avoid the hassles. But the smaller island airport near me that has only flight that are less than 4.5 hours is fantastic for super early flights.

Make sure you 1) bring extras of your meds in case of unexpected delays, and 2) double check if you need any documentation. You don't want to get in trouble for smuggling schedule II controlled substances because you forgot to get a doctor's note for your ADHD meds. (Keep meds like that in their original containers, too) Also, sign up for your country's Department of Foreign Affairs/equivalent list of people abroad, so they'll know they have citizen in a region in case of natural disasters etc, and so that you can get relevant text message notifications. Make sure you always know where your nearest embassy or consulate is, and please, please don't keep your passport/phone/wallet and other valuables in the quick access pockets on your backpack - if they're easily accessed by you, they're easily accessed by pickpockets.

Please, for the sake of your own personal security, don't just plug your devices into any random unknown USB port on a plane or at an airport. Don't use Public WiFi if you can avoid it but if you must, then use a VPN. Bonus Tip: Don't leave your PASSPORT in your backpack if you have to gate check the bag!

Are there still planes that are not severely overbooked? In the last 7 years that never been the case for me, and I fly about 14 times a year (international and domestic), for any flight within the Americas (domestic international in Korea/Japan are usually pretty much peppered with empty seats). But I've never seen that case with any flights within America (even flying to Raleigh was so overbooked that they were paying people to rebook -- and Raleigh is in the middle of nowhere). I can't imagine a middle seat not getting sold. The left aisle seat one is a great one though for sure.

I’m Australian and our family is going to,beautiful Greece next year for my nephew’s wedding, then on to Devon for a week or so. I wish that I could only use carry on, but there is no way that I can only have 1 pair of shoes for the whole trip. I’ll need at least 5 - 6 prs eg for the wedding, for walking in Greece but then other shoes for the UK where their summer is not always great and it will rain. Plus this will be my first time overseas since being diagnosed with Systemic Lupus and I am worrying about my body coping with the travel etc. Apologies, just thinking out loud

I have traveled Europe, US traveling back and forth to NZ and the islands. My recommendations 6 prs shoes are too many. 1 pr comfortable shoes that u can use for wedding or out to diner, pr of sandals and pr of slip on shoes for airport and maybe a 4 th pr if needed . Greece walking,uneven roads, we just had sandals. Enjoy your trip, loved Greece.

I'd like to know more about what kind of travel adaptors you would recommend. I bought a travel adaptor on Amazon for a trip to France about a year ago only to have the adaptor blow out a fuse in the hotel I was staying in. And it wasn't just in my room either, it was in at least two other rooms as well. Can you recommend one that's a reasonable price and yet not so poorly made that it basically messes with hotel or rental house fuses?

Any tips for solo travel (maybe a video I’ve missed) but heading on a 3 week trip on my own in November but nervous about it
@charliesgood Жыл бұрын
It’s normal to be nervous, but once you go solo travel, you’ll never be the same person. Solo traveling is really the best. As a recommendation, stay active, plan your itinerary, open up to make new friends, keep your personal stuff in a bag and always around your hip/chest. If you don’t plan, you might end up in the hotel room or the same coffee shop! Good luck 🙏🏼
@jennyt7612 Жыл бұрын
@@charliesgoodI totally agree - I was nervous the first time I travelled solo, but all was fine & now I love it. It gives you freedom & in the times you may want company you can always find someone to chat to. If you do a reasonable amount of planning it is really the best way to travel
