Again, great, practical, logical ideas, Laurie. What works for me: 1. I only pack one pair of shoes so a dedicated shoe bag is marvellous. (Socks stored in shoes) 2. Water bottle, buy one when I get to destination and keep refilling. Saves bag space. 3. Laundry - dedicated laundry days in itinerary. Cloth laundry bag which gets washed and dried at the same time. Happy travels.

Laundry would be a game changer. One pair! That's smart.

Great tips as always Laurie. We visited France in October & I packed my shoes separately. Big space saver! I don't know why I never did that before. Thanks for sharing your hacks. (BTW- if anyone is transferring from an international to domestic flight thru Detroit be aware. After clearing customs, you must exit & re-enter the airport & go through security. I had to toss the water I purchased at Charles de Gaulle airport. So if you purchased liquids over 3oz (soda, perfume, liquor) at the international airport you must put them in your suitcase & check your suitcase.

Food too! Ditch the fresh fruit you may have brought on board the plane at your country of origin of travel. Buy another banana in your destination airport if you’re that hungry. At any rate, it’s a good idea to ask (or google) about food coming into the destination country, before departure.

I just got notification of my PreCheck approval on Friday (the lady said it could technically take up to 60 days, but mine was approved within just a few hours), but I think I'm still going to pack my liquids in a liquids bag, at least when flying home, in case the one airport makes me go through regular security unexpectedly. It'll be interesting to see how the PreCheck line wait time compares to the regular security line's wheelchair lane (that was actually the point of contention for 4 years - which one would ultimately be faster).

Do you mean which carryon do I like best? We have only used TravelPro, and I love their wheels. I prefer them to be embedded in the suitcase somewhat.
@carrie8802 жыл бұрын
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie yes thank you ! I was struggling with the 2 wheels for maneuvering as I like to wheel my bag alongside of me or in front when boarding. I haven’t seen a spinner with embedded wheels I wish they’d make one .

Hey new to the channel. Can you please make a video about the best and budget luggage sets. I have a really hard time finding a good durable luggage set to travel. Thanks for the videos they are really helpful.

Here is a valuable one, but I have noticed that the spinners are much higher quality than they used to be if you like those better: bit.ly/BestCarryOnSuitcase

Great tips as always Laurie. I put all my sanitizer and wipes in one of those stand up clear liquids bags from Amazon. Do they have to be loose in tsa bin?
@SnowySpiritRuby2 жыл бұрын
Not entirely sure what the antecedent of "they" is in this case. If it's referring to the liquids themselves, the only liquid that has to be loose in the bin is if you bring a hand sanitizer that's bigger than 3.4 oz - that has to be separated, but all other liquids can be together in the liquids bag. If you're referring to the liquids bag itself, if going through regular security, the liquids bag has to be pulled out and put in the grey bin.

Hi Nancy. The TSA wants the bottle of sanitizer all by itself in the gray bin if it's larger than the 3.4 oz size.

Can you do video for 2 people with a large luggage and with carrying bag?
@TravelTipsbyLaurie2 жыл бұрын
I just never travel with one; don't even own one since we fly standby and need to pack in carryon bags.

Hi is there any weigh limit for carry on luggage?
@TravelTipsbyLaurie2 жыл бұрын
Hi, you'll have to check your airline's carry-on requirements. In the US we do not.

Hmm… I’ll spend 5 weeks traveling in Europe this summer and I’m thinking i could pack for two weeks and then just wash clothes. What do you think? Ths

Most definitely! Smart packing!

I used a permanent marker to put a symbol on my charging cords and a matching symbol on the item it goes with (one dot or two dots for example) so I can always use the correct cord for charging. Coloured tape is also useful for this.
@TravelTipsbyLaurie2 жыл бұрын
Yes, do you use washi tape ever? Great idea Sharon.

Great ideas. I'd love to know your favorite reusable aluminum water bottle, I recently purchased the Coldest Water bottle but the taste of the aluminum really bothers me and I find myself not reaching for it. I wish these tasted as neutral as plastic water bottles. I favorite hack Is that I always travel with a small collapse able cup. It takes up very little space and I can grab a cup of water anywhere. Even the Airline attendants do not mind filing it up where as if you have a water bottle they sometimes frown at you. Thank you for the great tips.

Yes, take it! I do not like reusable bottles; they all seem to have a taste to me. Hubby flies and uses daily this humongous one because the lid thing does not flap back on your nose:bit.ly/3jQ6OOI

Collapsable cups are handy for drinking from fountains, for when you need to rinse your mouth in a public restroom, for taking medicine, for when you just want a little bit to drink. I have a small size Hydroflask which does not have a taste. I only use it for water and occasionaly rinse out with baking soda to keep it fresh. Due to medical issues which lead to dehydration I must carry water when I travel so I got a doctor's note to verify this. It is my understanding that it is up to the TSA agent to accept this.
