Torrell, I can't thank you enough. If you recall, I landed my dream job as an IT Consultant after taking your course in 2019 and purchasing the hl7 book you mentioned in another video. Sadly, covid hit in 2020, and my contract ended abruptly. The last few years, I have been doing payer system testing and config with health plans. Its okay but not as rewarding to me as working with RIS/PACs and EMRs. I am now diving back into your videos and course in an effort to brush up and get back to doing what I love.

Hello André, The only PACS communication protocols I'm aware of are DICOM and DICOMWeb. I have not used DICOMWeb before though.

Regarding via IP, essentially if you’re accessing the PACS server through a GUI you would usually need the modalitie’s IP address, AE title, port to listen on, wan or lan connection, DICOM C-Move and C-Get. Once this information is configured the modality will then send the images to the PACS and the PACS would then forward this information to the RIS.

so If I understand correctly, DICOM defines the endpoints / interface between PACS and Machine ? right ?

Yes, that's one way you can think about DICOM. I think about DICOM as a standard form of communication. Like English, Spanish, and French are different communication languages. But instead of communicating words, between people, DICOM communicates a standard for transferring, acquiring, and storing medical images between different DICOM devices, such as a PACS.

Thanks for the compliment. It depends on if the viewer and PACS server allow that type of integration.

Hi Sir, I want to make a DICOM setup where images are transferred and stored in another computer where they can be reviewed from the workstation. The workstation is Fujifilm, what will be the AE Title of the said storage computer? Do recommend any free or cheap platform that's possible to achieve this.

@@ml_mezie Perhaps you can try Orthanc: www.orthanc-server.com/. It is a DICOM server but it also includes a viewer.

Hi I’m having trouble sending images from my vivid E95 to Dicom storage. Every time I try to “copy” image over it tells me to “free up space on drive E”....how do I do that??

Hi HingleMcringle, it is asking your to "free up space on drive E" on your vivid E95? How many days worth of studies do you have on your vivid E95? Are you able to delete older studies from the vivid E95?
