I received the 35l venture pack but i couldn't feel any steel mesh on the sides. It kinda negates all the extra safety features the bag has. It is build like a fortress except for the sides. Someone with a stanley knife can easily cut through. This combined with a imo clumsy packing experience makes me send it back.

Having mesh on only some panels is a weird design choice, but PacSafe is still the best company that I know of for security backpacks.

@@OneBagTravels I really like the superb build quality but the bag has too many downsides for me to shell out 214 euros, which in it self is a great deal compared to other pacsafe options like the ls450 which costs 185 euros here. The downsides for me on the 35L are the big flappy plastic shoe compartment, from the inside view. It gets in the way and is just clumsy to pack your bag if you're not using the shoe compartiment. Also the tapered (slightly wetched) form towards the top of the bag which leaves little packing space and the main zipper which doesn't open on the sides but half on top. It gives the bag a weird packing experience. It also has too many small compartments. I prefer one large + one small. That's enough. The rest can go in packing cubes or cases. I will try another safety option. I'm buying a pacsafe 12 or 15l travelsafe and carry that inside another backpack that looks less conspicuous. That's another downside of the 35L. It screams "hey look at me, I'm hiding valuables." It's best not to look like a target. "A poor man always travels safely" - Seneca The travelsafe will take a laptop too. Pretty much everything of value really except maybe a huge camara. My main theft concern is cleaning or other hotel staff in 3rd world countries going through my stuff when I'm out and about fir a drink at night or a day trip.

I have no idea how big that case is. You have to measure the dimensions and compare them to the dimensions on this pack. It has a big suitcase style main compartment, so if the dimensions are smaller than the pack, it should fit.

You mention the weight of bag packed which is great. Most reviewers says how much can be pack in a bag. Most foreign airlines maximum Wright is 7kg or 15 lb. This bag required size for foreign airlines. And they more strict than US domestic airlines. I have flown on several foreign airlines, Singapore, Eva, Turkish and Latam. In the US mostly Alaska and rarely AA. Too much issues with most domestic as people are drunk or rabid dog anti-trumpers.

Yep! Some airlines check weight too, so good to keep it low if you can.

Who's going to try to cut into someone's backpack while they're wearing it or sitting there. So the only feature that would matter is whether or not you can lock this to something so someone cannot steal the whole bag. The plastic slider can easily be snipped as well as the zipper handles. The bad guy pot says that there's two metal wires going through the arm straps so that they can't be cut but then it's connected to the bag buy a small piece of fabric. And I also kind of disagree with your low price Damon these bags are pretty expensive in my opinion. Great video, I wanted to point out a few issues with the fairly light security that I had after buying.

I think more common is snatch and grab and distraction theft. I don't know if data exists on how often different types of personal theft crimes happen, but I suspect that you're right, cutting is not on the top of the list. You make some great points, even the best anti-theft backpack isn't going to do that much to prevent theft if someone wants to get into it. I think the most important thing is making your bag less desirable in the first place. Some common sense, situational awareness, and basic security will make you a less desirable target. Also a lot of people feel out of place when they travel, it can be stressful and disorienting, so having a bag that offers some security gives you less to worry about.

Not common but thieves will still cut your bag when you wear it. European gypsies often work in groups. One or two or even more to distract and one to cut your bag with a stanleyknife. Quick tip, as soon as you see any gypsies be very aware of what's happening around you. Also, the safety zippers would also protect against hotelstaff looking for a quick steal.

Great video and I love your reviews. Keep up the great work. I actually own a couple of Pacsafe bags and find them to be very practical and decent value. I also have the Osprey Arcane duffle which I bought based on your review of lightweight bags so I can meet the 7KG limit of some airlines.
