I hope you enjoy my video about this lovely section of the River Wey. Be sure to watch my other video about the main section of the river and man made sections comprising the Wey & Godalming Navigations here... kzbin.info/www/bejne/sGjZhXijr7Snp6c&ab_channel=StevieWyatt

If I had been a diligent high school student in English classes 40 years ago, I would be able to enjoy your video, feeling as if I were in the UK with you. At any rate, I enjoy my Aqua Marina's Tomahawk kayak in a lake in Japan, dreaming of my paddling it in the UK someday.

Hey bud, I've been watching a few of your videos this last week. I am really enjoying your content. I've paddled some of the Godalming parts of the Wey, not been to this section.. It's going on my list. Thanks Dan

Great video thanks. The Wey is a lovely river and local to us. I like your wheels… what make are they and are they robust?

Thanks very much! The kayak trolley I use is a C-Tug, built like a tank. I've put a list of all the gear I use with links in the video description, cheers 🚣♂️

hey stevie, could you tell me how you get back to your vehicle being that it is where you started up the river? maybe not in this video as it is on your door step but when you are traveling to other places and camping.

For this one my girlfriend dropped me off and picked me up. For other trips using the rigid kayak on my own has been a logistical challenge - hiding the boat in bushes/ tying the boat up and spending hours going to get the car etc! That's why these days for longer trips I use the Itiwit X500. It's inflatable so I can pack it up into its backpack, I even take it on the train. On rivers like the Thames and Medway you can usually leave your boat with a lock-keeper while you go and get your car, or some riverside pubs.

Thanks great video. I'm thinking to buy a kayak and explore Surrey rivers such as the Way river. What kind of kayak you recommend for 2 people and any advice on safety rules, tips etc would be much appreciated.

Thanks Andres, I'd recommend you take a look at the Itiwit X100 from Decathlon. I've made a review video about it. There is a 2 seater version (the yellow one) which is well worth a look at. For the best safety tips and guides look at British Canoeing - very extensive website with advice and rules and safety info. I'm self taught and I learned so much from them. If you see me on the Wey or Thames say hi 👋

@@StevieWyatt thanks a lot! I did checked the British canoeing and I’m now a member! I bought the Itiwit 100 3 seater version which looks very good and the price was great too. Many thanks and see you there 😉

I think this part of the Wey looks even better than the other one. Did you have to use the saw at all?
@StevieWyatt3 жыл бұрын
I didn't, but there are more strainers and faster flowing water than what I've done so far. I can see that if you got pushed up against a strainer how cutting yourself free could be a lifesaver. The force of the water on these 'off piste' sections is noticeable!

Hi Stevie. Nice vid. Is there undisputed access rights to the old river?

Stevie, your cinematic imagery is wonderful, and your commentary is relevant and informative, but the dopeymusic noise going on in the background makes your efforts with camera, editing, and informational research and presentation unwatchable. It's just a thoroughly irritating distraction. If I turn off the sound, I have to forfeit your commentary, which undermines the whole point. The music to your Thames part 1 video was a good fit to the subject and the waterscape through which you travelled, but the noise you buttoned on to this just sucks.

Thanks for your feedback Arthur. I get mixed feedback about the music I use and the sound levels, and this is one of the earliest videos I made. I have manually written full subtitles on all of my videos for those that prefer to listen with sound off, this is something you can select on or off. I'm always trying to improve the channel and am learning and reassessing all the time how to shoot, edit and produce videos. Thanks again
