I use lemon skin for this purpose for dishwash and additionally as a bathroom / toilet cleaner. I make a pulp of the lemon skin after boiling and grinding, filter it, boil it with salt, cool it and then add baking soda, boric acid, camphor, vinegar and dilute it water to obtain the cleaner. Very effective in cleaning not only closet, tiles etc but also wooden furniture, brass/bronze/copper items. For floor cleaning, I use Alum cake, baking soda, boric acid, salt , vinegar diluted with water and adding lemongrass essence. For the last 3 months I am using these and not buying from outside. Both casts less than ₹20 for me

We all Indians , went with the flow of the world !! After seeing side effects of industrial grade chemicals of soaps n detergents, all r getting back to ecofriendly lifestyle 🥲🍀 Let's also shift to wholesome foods - so that adults get healthy just with one or two meals per day , explain our children , close ones about these , & Buy only graded plastic items if in unavaoidable situation & replace from time to time by sell off of this graded plastic for recycle ♻️

A couple of generations went through the crazy changes of the industrial revolution and their children simply were not taught these old ways of making things as everyone was so excited about the chemicals being invented and produced. The knowledge was lost for many.

I have a question about the citrus peels - can we keep them in the fridge for a while until we build up enough peels to make up a decent amount of 300g? And would it be safe to add sodium carbonate to the natural detergent mix or are the soap nuts enough?
