So following on from my two reviews looking at the Rolex inspired 40mm Pagani PD 1651 and the 43mm PD 1639 i have been asked many times about how they compare to eachother and which one is best. Well in this video i have a look over what simularities they share, the differences they have, their faults and their merits. At the end of the day they are both very good watches :) Have a watch and see what you think ;)

I recieved my green hulk Pagani Design pd1639 today July 20 2020. I am happy to convey that the lume has gotten better. Surprising. Even the bezel is perfectly centered and the cyclops is perfectly straight with no drooping as I have seen in some videos. I am very pleasantly satisfied and impressed with what you get for the price. Yes, the bezel still has a bit of back play, but I'm fine with that. Last week I also got the pd1639 in black and gold. The lume is obviously worse on that watch, but something I can live with. Still something I think Pagani is addressing as we speak as mentioned above. The accuracy is less than +2 secs per day and has just varied between -1 and +2 secs/day this week maybe because if my different activities day to day. I am really pleased.

my PD-1639 stainless steel Green watch with a green Nylon strap band, arrived two weeks ago & I wore it for the best part of the two weeks. During the night if I woke up the loom always lit up great. After I watched your vidio I just ordered the PD-1651 in Rose Gold with a Black Rubber Strap band. Its the first watch I have ever owned thats not stainless steel or is Gold. Being a little different to the PD-1639 I'm very exited as I love the PD-1639. That will make it nine Pagani Design watches I think. So far the quality control has been brilliant.

I got bored last night and fixed the bezel on my 1639. PITA! Kinda worth it. You have to take the watch completely down and pop the crystal then get a blade under the insert. A retention spring then a weird springed wire under the bezel. I think you could actually trim the spring wire down to get to 60 clicks. I didn’t but I bent a little extra spring into it, much improved. Thanks for the comparison, very helpful!

To clarify I mean the springed wire underneath the bezel could be trimmed to get 60 clicks. It would take a lot of trimming and assembling to get it right. I thought about turning my engineer on and calculating the approximate length to snip, but I was drinking...😉

Did you try putting some silicone grease on those crowns? It apparently worked wonders for some people's dive watches. Btw. we should collectively beg Pagani Design to shorten their name to Pagani.

The Rolex Yacht master is bi-directional. Both bezels on the Paganis look a little misaligned. The clasp is brilliant for watches of this price. I had a gritty crown, but the doctor told me it would settle down in time. The 1651 looks a lot nicer, and your right, the lume is crap. Both watches are well worth the money, however I would spend the extra and buy a Heimdallr. I own a 200m Parnis diver, which is superb and gets loads of comments from even non watch people. Good review as usual, now get rid of that silly accent, LOL

The bezel on my is differently uni directional on mine. But yeah agree great watch and also agree on the Heimdallr comment. The accent however is staying ;)

I like PD for value and quality. The suggestion abut a bit of silicone grease is a good one, did it and don't have a bit of "grttiness" with the crown and my bezel is true- line s up right and is 'good.' Now about that danged extension on the bracelet - it doesn't seem to work at all - too tight I guess. 1639 for my vote- (although I would prefer it in a 40mm.)

Hi Kyle, just discovered your channel and as a big fan of Pagani Design watches, your channel is a must. As you have modded a Pagani, I wonder if I could ask a question. My Pagani Hulk has a frozen bezel.it worked, then got tight, now won't move at all. Is it easy to remove the bezel ? I guess a clip has moved or broken, but I'm not brave enough to attack it without any info. If you know the answer I would be grateful mate . Cheers Steve

I've got the Yacht Master homage in for review at the moment and I absolutely love the look of it. You can tell the budget has been spread quite thin across the watch though.

Thanks for review man, definitely 40/47mm case is better i have also 6.3inch wrist and thats the perfect size for me and definitely 60 click bezel and it looks better clicks than 90 click no sense bezel. Btw how is the quallity overal compared to skx007 cuz i have 007 right now and thinking to buy that 40mm pagani. I know its better than skx in every way, crystal, bracelet, insert, movement, but overall how is the quallity in real life when u compare them side by side and the feeling of pagani when u hold it and put it on ur wrist?

Great video ! Is it possible to use the supplied Pagani clasp with an after market rubber strap ? i.e. can you remove just the clasp from the supplied Pagani Bracelet

In all honesty i don't know, i want to say yes but you might need to loose the dive extension and mod the rubber strap to fit.

Supposedly the retaining ring for the Bezel is under the insert on these , so it is advised not to try and remove them normally . FYI just in case u would want to fiddle ...40mm for me.....🥂

It is indeed, and it’s a pain in the ass to take apart and reassemble. But if you are mechanically inclined and pay attention as you take it apart it’s really not that bad. Downside is the crystal is in the way of getting the bezel insert off to access the retention spring for the bezel. Only way around it is to remove the movement and pop the crystal out. All honesty it was about a 30 minute job with mediocre eBay watch tools.

I've just bought the 1651 and it is a very bonny watch. As to the bezel action I will never use it desk diving although mine is ok .Recently bought a seiko 5 Suits and this way better looking for a third of the price and with the same movement. I have no complaints. Even sizing the metal strap was a breeze cos of screw pins so no messing about hammering pins out.On a personal level I would love this watch if it was a wee bit bigger at 42mm. That said I love this watch and just wish the LUME was better. 8 out of 10 because of crappy lume.

I've been planning to buy the hulk homage for a few months now but the "yatchmaster" made me hold off. Now I'm even more confused as Pagani have released the PD 1662 which is a GMT. I'm absolutely loving the looks of them as they have pepsi and batman variants. Have you looked at any? Which would you recommend? So confused! 😭

Yeah i did a comparison on the Pagani GMt and Parnis. Do also have a full reviwe of the GMT as well coming. Unlike a lot of reviewers i like to wear the watches a few weeks to get a good feel. Hence why i'm a bit late to the game but hopefully will be a honest review ;)

So on the green pagani design the seiko bezel and dial dont fit? The bezel on my version of the green one is kind of loose and turning it feels bad, is it the same with the black one?

Want to say dial and hands will but bezel inserts and things no. The bezels between them are different sizes so these are not interchangable.

While I agree that 90 clicks on the bezel is awkward, two spins around is 180 clicks, so you should be able to put it right where you want.

I have a watch with 90 clicks. 90 clicks means 15 clicks for 10 minute marks. If the pointer is lined up at 12, then 15 clicks lets you line up at all 10 minute increments: 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60. You can not line up at 5, 15, 25, 35, 45, or 55. Going around again just repeats the exact same pattern.

If the PD-1639 were 40mm, I'd probably own both the Hulk and the Smurf. I have a 7-inch wrist, but those hands don't look right on that dial.

I hope they do bring out some more colour ways. Hulk version would be great. I will be doing a video on how easy these are to mod soon. And i can say things like hands and dials are easy enough with come to get modding parts ;)

Gawd, why do people bang on about the bezel action / number of clicks so much? I mean, how often do you actually use it in reality? Also, this gritty crown constant moan - it takes 2 bloody seconds to apply a bit of grease to cure the issue.

Customer service on Aliexpress is Absolutely crap. There is no way to live Chat anymore guys . People should be aware that if you have problem you are on your own. No more Aliexpress for me. Your opinion. I own 4 Pagani watches and like them all a lot. No issues whatsoever. Also just use Paypal and you are protected if there are problems with the watch..paypal refunds the costs of return shipping as well.
