MAXIMUM THE RYO-KUN ( which is the guitarist) wrote this song about his experience being bullied in 8th grade. Hence the setting in the school yard, building, and classroom. In the beginning he talks about the rage he felt as the abuse was piled on, even though nobody else could see it. At the very end, he concludes that all he can do is forgive his former tormentors and a move on with his life. (Growing up to be a Rock Star is perhaps the best revenge.) The manga images swirling around the class classroom are from the manga they created as part of a box set including ad CD and the DVD containing this video and others found on KZbin. I stole this.

Maximum The Hormone is a very influential band in Japan. Among others for whom the band served as role models, without MTH there would never have been our favorite band from Japan, Hanabie. Hanabie is a female metal band that was formed in middle school as an MTH cover band. You can still hear MTH's influences in their music today, even though they invented their own subgenre with Harajukucore. Many people suggest We Love Sweets as an introduction, but the more recent song Otaku Lovely Densetsu is also very suitable, especially since the song also features the new drummer.

@@youngrootv Yes, many compare Maximum The Hormone with System Of A Down because both bands love to surprise listeners with crazy tempo changes and put a very high level of creativity into their music. The same goes for Hanabie. As far as we know, MTH and SOAD started around the same time, so both bands came up with their style independently of each other.

I absolutely adore MTH. I really admire them and how uniquely weird they are, and they helped me a ton growing up as such a weird gay kid but always staying unapologetically true to myself. And also I love that you described having "whiplash" because I usually describe them as hardcore genre whiplash 😂 If you want to check out another of my favorite weird Japanese bands than I'd love to reccomend Frederic and their song Only Wonder. One of the catchiest songs that I've ever heard with a fantastically odd music video to pair with it 💜✌️

I would recommend the song "2 Hundred million centimeter long blade", this song got famous for being used as the 3rd Ending of the Anime Chainsaw man, you van actually watch the anime ending, its the same Version 😁 Also if you're interested in a Japanese girl band that started out as a Maximum the hormone cover band, i would love to see your reaction to them, they are called Hanabie , and their most popular songs are "We love Sweets" and "Pardon me i have to go now" and "run away" i think you would like them alot 😁

Yeah Maximum The Hormone are a metal band, metal, nu-metal, hardcore punk, progressive metal, that kinda area. As you are only just becoming aware of the depth of the Japanese metal scene, let me introduce you to a few of the bands. And I am going to stick with either women only bands / women fronted bands. The metal scene in Japan is pretty women lead. Strictly speaking one of these suggestions is punk, but what the hell. Lovebites - The Hammer of Wrath live (saw these guys in London a few weeks back, holy sh**) Nemophila - Dissension mv (the drummer of this band was inspired to focus on drums by the drummer of Maximum The Hormone) Hanabie - We Love Sweets mv (this band started life as a Maximum The Hormone cover band) Broken By The Scream - Sayonara Birthday mv (often generates the most hilarious reactions I have seen, with the exception of one other band) Otoboke Beaver - Don't Light My Fire mv (and this is that exception, amazing and hilarious) Happy trails.
