At this time, what set of block plugins would you recommend using to build basic pages with a few cool animations, etc. Also, as a starting point, would you go with Astra Pro or GeneratePress premium? Just getting started and I'm confused about which plugin to use to set up the overall blocks on my site.

I am in the process of setting up a website hosting/design/SEO business. I have been on the fence about Gutenberg until I watched this video. I have been leaning toward starting out building my design services around the free version of Elementor and then transitioning to utilizing Gutenberg as more plugins become available that extend the functionality of Gutenberg. How can I integrate doing page design using both Elementor and Gutenberg? For example, is there any plugin that will allow me to bring in Elementor blocks into Gutenberg?

Lol you’re a lucky guy. Elementor is the only one with that functionality. In your WP Admin search for the plugin Elementor Blocks for Gutenberg

@@johncreates ...Thanks...I will check it out. I would love to just use Gutenberg but I just don't feel it is all the way there …. yet. But I agree with you that the tsunami of development that will be focused on Gutenberg by thousands of developers will make it VERY difficult for most existing page builders to survive unless they change their business model. Good to see there is some effort by Elementor to get integrated with Gutenberg early in the game.

Agreed! I've also sadly noticed that some Gutenberg plugins add unnecessary bloat to your website. I'm working on diagnosing a bunch of the top plugins to see which ones are safe to use and I'll be sure to update everyone on it. I think it'll take a good while before page builders are obsolete at this rate :)

@@johncreates yeah that's definitely the downside of the open source structure of Wordpress. It us really hard for the average individual to be able to figure out what is good and what is bad code...or worse ... what plugin can create a terrible security risk for the website. This is why I am setting up a website hosting, design and SEO company. My plan is to offer businesses or people wanting to start an online business with what I am branding as Triple Optimized Websites. I will insure clients that their website is hosted on fully optimized servers ... that their websites are fully optimized for performance... and providing on going SEO services to build traffic for their websites. I just don't think that any small business has the resources or skills to put this together on their own.

These are the types of videos that help me the most because they serve as actual examples that can be walked through as a student to improve your skills.
