Walter throwing Sam under the bus with the boyfriend/girlfriend question, mate, that is quintessentially Aussie right there. Walter and Sam are obviously good mates, lovely to see. Though I was born in South Africa, emigrated to Australia when I was 4, my family heritage is Scottish (each time I am there I feel that spiritual connection Walter was speaking of), so I have been learning Scottish Gaelic (Gaidhlig) for just over six months now. Obviously a long way to go but loving it! Thanks for the great video. (Chantelle do you miss Pro Nutro, Romany Creams, Fray Bentos spread, King Simba chips? Walter do you miss Tim Tams, Milo, Meat Pies, Pavlova etc, or can you both get hold of these things over there?)

@Michael Adamou Hi Michael. Look, to be honest mate, it has been so long! We arrived here in Oz in 1978, I was 4! I personally never felt anything but accepted, but I was young, and, as I say, it was a different time. Sorry can't be more informative.

@Michael Adamou I should say, with my parents, they both, particularly my Dad, wanted so hard to become Aussies, and assimilate, and I think other Aussies respected that a lot, if that makes sense.

Another enjoyable video! This Pagoda team has such a great rapport, and they are a pleasure to watch. I look forward to seeing their next video soon. It is fun to see this sharing of cultures and ideas. Although I have to say that Walter's love of blood sausage and pig's face stew paints a horrific image in my mind. Toodles...

Loved this video. Privacy is super important, sometimes people need to be reminded that just because y'all make videos online doesn't mean they need to know everything about y'alls personal lives. I'm really excited to see how this channel grows. You all have such complementary personalities, and as an American about to move to a foreign country, it's lovely to hear about how well you've adapted to the cultural differences, etc. I'm currently working on learning Korean, but it's been very slow going!

I'm lucky that I was born in a coutry where 80% of the population speaks 3 distinct languages. If I were to learn another language, it would definitely be Swedish. I know some words and phrases already just searching stuff in the internet but if I got the chance and motivation to learn it, I would. Nordic cultures are fascinating and I love it. Japanese is a close one. I love Japan. I love watching these guys. Been a subscriber to this channel and to another channel where they are also featured for months now. I love watching stuff like this, English variation and all. Sam definitely is one of the main reasons why I initially clicked, I mean he's handsome af, but the content and conceot is what keep me watching their videos. Love it. 💖

Loved the last question! John is so right, if you can communicate in a language, you can say you speak it, even if you're not 100% fluent. For example, my first language is French, I'm fluent in English, and I speak Italian, even though I'm definitely not fluent, but I can have a conversation. I'm also learning Russian, but I won't say that I speak it because I can't have a conversation.

Thank u guys for this amazing video I love it. I get what Walter said about spirutual connection, my mother's side is southern peruvian and since at very young age I've always wanted to visit her hometown, she told a lot of stories from there that I think at some point part of my heritage is related to there. Thank you again for this video and keep up the good work.

Answering the last question. I'm an Indonesian. I was born and raised in West Sumatra and currently living in Jakarta. So, as a non Jakartan Indonesian, I naturally able to speak 2 languages as my native tongues, 1 is Bahasa Indonesia as the national language, the other is Minangkabau as the local language. And I'd say that I'm fluent in English. I haven't take any official English test recently, so I don't know how much I have progressed, but if I am to take IELTS. I'd say my IELTS score would be around 7-8. And as for the other languages I'd like to learn, I have quite a list actually. However, my ethnicity is Han Chinese, even though I'm 100% Indonesian (I'm the 3rd/4th generation Indonesian). So, I will say that the language that I'd like to learn the most would be Mandarin Chinese, because I'd like to learn about my root, and it'll be not as complete if I'm to learn it in English. However, if I have reached the level of fluent in Mandarin Chinese, I'd like to learn another East Asian languages like Korean and Japanese. I also interested in learning Arabic, since the dominant religion of Indonesia currently is Islam, and the language of Islam is Arabic, and Bahasa Indonesia itself adopted so many Arabic words into its vocabulary. And learning Hindi, since India is quite close to Indonesia, not that close geographically though, and Hindi is the biggest of all Indian languages. I personally perceived it as a lingua franca for India (which soon will be the most populated country in the world), alongside obviously, English. I also interested in learning some European languages, mainly: French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, and Russian. The main reason though is its global influence, except for German though. The German language is more because I perceive German is/would be the dominant language of the EU after English, especially since Brexit thing. The only counter balance to Germany's influence as of right now on the EU is France. That's why I want to study French as well. Also, I could see German become the lingua franca of the EU. And as for Russian, because it's the go to language for most of the former Uni Soviet countries. And for Spanish and Portuguese because they're the languages of the Americas The other "niche" languages I'd like to be fluent on would be: Thai, Dutch, Hebrew, and Greek. Thai because Thailand is close to Indonesia, we're both South East Asian countries, we're neighbours, and we should learn each other languages. And Thai would be somewhat useful also in Laos, so that's why I choose Thai, even though I'm not as sure to learn it as the go to other South East Asian language, because Vietnamese and Tagalog are also promising. Dutch because Indonesia is a former Dutch colony, and we adopted lots and lots of words from the Dutch, even more than Arabic and Hindi combined! As for Hebrew and Greek mostly because they're the languages of the Bible. So, anyone (including me) who wants to know the Holy Bible better, the *MUST* learn Hebrew and Greek, at least its basic. So there you go. My list of languages I'd like to be fluent on: - Mandarin Chinese - Korean - Japanese - Arabic - Hindi - French - Spanish - Portuguese - Russian - German - Thai/Vietnamese/Tagalog (I haven't really decided yet among these 3, although for now, I'm leaning more towards Thai) - Dutch (this one I assume would be easier to learn, once I have mastered German) - Hebrew - Greek

Hey Guys, I agree the food is great and i like spicy food. You should visit Jaksal Chicken, 11 Baekjegobun-ro 39-gil, Seokchon-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul. I was in Seoul last year November, had an amazing time. I never felt so safe in my entire life while being in Seoul. I literally left my hotel every morning and returned the next morning while being there,it was an amazing experience. I received so many free gifts from shop owners, went shopping at a market can't remember the name but i know it's not far from Nine Tree Premier Hotel Myungdong 2. I left SA with one suitcase and came back home with 2 lol. I'm definitely going to plan another trip to Seoul after this COVID 19 pandemic, hopefully i can meet ya'll? Guys, have a wonderful day further. Cheers for now!

Funny Videos. I laughed like crazy when Walter threw Sam under the bus. I respect the privacy I can speak English and Tamil fluently. I can speak , read and write (not very fluent but can manage) French, Hindi and Korean. I'm Indian French and embarrassed to say that i'm not fluent in French because i was raised in India from 5yrs old and i want to be one among the native and started adapting to Indian culture that made be lose touch in French. Still i do stand out because of my thinking, my accent, my dressing sense. It is annoying to be odd one out or lets say Unique.

Guys, I am brazilian and I speak english and spanish, believe me, portuguese can be even harder than some of the asians languages... I don't know nothing about any of those languages but I do know portuguese is very very hard to speak with fluency when it's not you mother language... It can be easier to all of you learn the basic like read and even write because of the alphabet and letter, as our languages use the same, but maybe it's easier for you learn Korean, for example, than portuguese... there's so much rules and things like that, that even get confused sometimes... But I love my languages even I believe it's one of the hardest ones to learn

I just retired as an English teacher in Torrance, a primarily Korean community in Southern California, and moved to Oregon, a very white, fat people place. Gone from Korean restaurants on every corner to one, one Korean restaurant in the whole area. There are more in Portland, but yuck. Hate Portland. Before Covid-19, I went back to Cali every six weeks and ate jahjamyong every day. Love Korean food so much. That’s what I miss most about Cali.

I don't think Japanese is all that hard. I learnt Japanese in uni and I took to it very easily and very quickly. The problem, though, is that I had to wait til I got to uni, because the only languages available at my middle school and high school were Spanish and French. I don't like either language (neither are very interesting to me, plus the histories associated with both languages in terms of colonization). I'm currently learning Japanese all over again, German (a hefty chunk of my family tree is German), and Korean. Part of me wants to learn Mandarin, but that's sooooo much harder than Japanese and Korean, so I might just skip that one.

Hi guys I am from Malaysia and I can speak 5 languages/dialects. I speak English obviously, I speak Malay as it’s my national language and I also speak 3 different Chinese Dialects which is Cantonese, Mandarin and Hokkien. Malaysia being a multicultural country has a mixture of Malay, Chinese, India, aborigines and etc so it is quite common to see people in Malaysia to speak at least 2 to 3 different languages. Btw have any of you guys been to Malaysia before?

I dont mean to brag but i can speak: 1(my native language I.e. Hindi) + 1 (English) +1 (french)+ 0.5 (korean) + 0.5 (japanese, I can speak but I cant read and write😅) Its actually my hobby to learn new languages, plus being a high school student, I've had a lot of opportunities to learn new languages in school, for ex: French... but I learnt most of these myself from the net.... P.S: WHY DID I SEE THIS VIDEO SO LATE?!?!?😪😪
