No hate, but I view this as Western culture polluting Thailand. I like performers and artistic expression, but this is not what I'm wanting to see when in Thailand. I'm sure many Thais would agree. To each his own though.
@chrisfromnoosa19057 күн бұрын
I take your point; it is very sad to see the Asian cultures fast disappearing, and being replaced with hybridised western cultures. But, to be fair, this has been an inexorable trend since Bugis Street disappeared from the Singapore streetscape back in the '70's - and it's been full steam ahead ever since. That said, I think multiculturalism is a good fit in Thailand.

Interesting place! It could be one of the items on my bucket list, but I'm more interested in the ambiance, the energy of the place, and of course the amazing view of Pai at the end of this vlog. Thanks for sharing!😊✍🙏

Great episode Ryan. Interesting circus people you talked with and showed doing their performances. I have a fear of fire because of an event in my life, so would not sit at the nighttime shows. No worries, doubt Damo would find it as interesting and as fun as you...too many farangs! 555 A very unique and great thing having this Circus i think. Yes everywhere people are smoking the ganja now, but hey, it is legal. Glad you had a good time and got back to the homestead safe brother. Peace, Love, and Circus acts Y'all

I did have Pai on my list of places to visit, but if I want to see hippies and stoned tourists I can just stay at home. I may be a boring old fart but I go to Thailand for Thailand and the Thai people, not a recreation of Nimbin ( search hippie capital of Australia ) just in some other place.

A spectacular Circus in Pai that I just noted from your video by sharing the information about it. Perform live and recorded at The Paradise Circus in Pai, Thailand. This beautiful 3-hour mix takes the listener on a progressive journey across a vast variety of sounds, and cultures. Beginning with the haunting Middle Eastern music of the desert, winding its way across a plethora of interwoven tunes, and ending with upbeat progressive melodies. The Paradise Circus is a community of like-minded cultures and individuals, who immerse themselves into the magic of Fire, Fire-dancing, and poi. The Paradise Bar, is where it all happens. It was fortunate enough, for a short time, to have been invited into this community and provided a platform, from which to share the gift of music. Enjoy the Mix, enjoy the journey, and lose yourself In The Paradise Circus, and who knows, maybe when you open your eyes, you'll find yourself in Pai, Thailand.

this is pretty cool to see, performing arts is booming in the west and a few of my friends train fire dancing in southern Thailand with the thai pros a few months of the year. i think many people would be surprised how many circus schools and places like this exist in Thailand. run by thais too.
