Looks wonderful but I’m confused. The printed recipe says 2/3 cup honey but the video says 1/2 cup. Please clarify.

I'm so sorry! It should be 2/3 cup of honey! Follow the written recipe, apologies!

Sounds yummy! Can you now maybe do some recipes with quatre epices, which I've read is for savory dishes, but I have no idea what to do with a spice jar of them!❤❤❤❤
@Lucinda_Jackson12 сағат бұрын
I've had it on rubbed on a pork loin roast and I've had it sprinkled on potato wedges, then roasted. I think it would also be delicious on simple roasted skin on chicken legs or thighs and drumsticks. I think it would overpower white meat chicken, but I could be wrong. Of course it would be delicious in a spice cake or bread or in a cookie like pfeffernusse.

A question, Beth! Sometimes these European recipe ingredients need to be adjusted for US and Canada....to help the moisture and rising, etc. Will this one work well over here, exactly as it is set out in your video? It looks wonderful!
@EntertainingWithBeth16 сағат бұрын
It's so funny you ask that because I have been spending months testing various ingredients here to make sure they align with what we have in the States since 50% of my Audience is US-Based. So I use American baking soda when baking (I order it on Amazon) I figured out that T55 flour is closest to American purpose flour and depending on the recipe, I add a little water to compensate for the French butter that has about 2% more fat in it than US Butter. But given these adjustments I think you should have great success with this recipe! But do let me know if you encounter any issues?
@elizabethlock616916 сағат бұрын
@EntertainingWithBeth Thank you so much for your reply. Interesting! I am European originally, and when I first came here, I brought over my tried and true cookbooks from Europe. My first batch of cup cakes turned into little hard buttons at the bottom of the cake papers. There were a few other recipes that also didn't quite work out for me, so I soon started collecting North American cookbooks. Thank you, Beth. A Very Merry Christmas to you and your lovely family!

@noushintehrani19018 сағат бұрын
Hi Beth, I love everything you share and I am following your KZbin channel for years. I am wondering if it is possible to bake this Pain Epise cake without eggs? If it is possibly, how do you recommend? It is going to be this yummy looking without eggs too? Thank you and happy holidays
@EntertainingWithBeth17 сағат бұрын
Oh sure you could try it by swapping in Apple Sauce instead of the eggs :) 1/4 cup (60 ml) of apple sauce for each egg. So 1/2 cup (120ml) total. Hope you enjoy!

Oooo...you had me at anise! 😂 This looks so good! I was so sure I had marmalade and then... disappointment. I guess I decided not to order it or they were out (seems unlikely) last time. I have an order scheduled for Monday so I think I'll add it and surprise myself with your beautiful bread for Christmas! I love gingerbread and the addition of the orange is just the nudge to take it over the top! 🍊 Merry Christmas, Beth. ✨🎄✨

Just a quick question/correction…..2-¼ cups AP flour is actually 270 gm. Recipe says 315 gm. Which amount is correct? It looks so good….hoping to make this tomorrow!
@EntertainingWithBeth3 сағат бұрын
315 g is the measurement you want. So if you do an internet search for the conversation of cups to grams for flour, you will find all kinds of measurements! Ha! It can vary greatly. Mainly based on how people measure, scoop method (from a bag or canister) or spoon in method, and what they consider a cup, a shake off at the top or leveling off with a knife etc.Personally for me, I stopped using internet sources for conversions and prefer to weigh each ingredient myself the way I measure, with the exact ingredients I am using. I did this also for my cookbook, to ensure everyone would get the same results I do. If you are outside the US, another tip is to use the T55 flour (I had no idea how many flours were here in France! And it has taken me months to find the flour that reacts like American AP Flour, so definitely use the T55 if you have a choice :) Sorry for the long winded answer but I hope it helps :)
