Thank you for the AWESOME history lessons! Reinhard Heydrich was perhaps the most feared Nazi. He was in charge of so many entities within the Nazi government. He was head of the RSHA, the Reich Main Secuity Office; head of the Gestapo and SIPO (Criminal Police); in charge of the Einsatzgruppen; Reich Protector of Bohemia and Moravia; and he chaired the infa.ous Wannsee Conference in January of 1942. It's no wonder he was assassinated. Hitler called him the man with the Iron Heart. It was believed he would be next in line if Hitler was dead. One of the least well known Nazis. He was absolutely ruthless and intimated most he he came in contact with.

There are people who, with what credentials I cannot say, assert that if Heydrich had been running Germany's war, the Germans would have won. This does make some sense. As evil as Hitler, he wasn't as lunatic as Hitler. He wouldn't have invaded Russia in the summer, when he did invade, he wouldn't have concentrated on Ukraine, and he certainly would never have diverted war materiel to kill more Jews which could have been used to fight the Allies.

Some say Himmler I had appointed his own doctor to use other methods when penicillins was not available to aid in Heydrich death in 1942 . It was rumoured. He feared Heydrich ‘S promotion

@@bobtaylor170 It was more than a possibility, a horrible probability. The time was June 1942 & the 2nd nazi Summer Offensive was just starting. The plan by general Marcks who designed Barbarossa (only to see it messed up by Hitler, resulting in the 1941 winter 🥶 disaster) for 1942 saw a southern drive that would have led the wehrmacht beyond the Don river & attacking the reds from the rear in what is called “Battle of Inverted Front” Re Walter Goerlitz Hitler as usual wanted to go all the way to the Volga without going to the Caspian; & the rest is … Heydrich without the ambush from his hq in France would have plotted a palace revolution with his boss Heinrich & have ‘dolf removed, & lead the nazis to a bigger disaster for the world 🌎 🌍
@bobtaylor1708 ай бұрын
@@minhthunguyendang9900 there's an interesting hypothesis that the primary reason Heydrich was hit, despite everyone's horrified ( and correct ) appraisals of what Hitler's revenge might entail, was the SOE's fear that he might have been getting close to figuring out that Canaris was playing a double game. I have run across vague references to some sort of Heydrich overthrow of Hitler, but have never seen any reason to believe it. Can you recommend anything?
