My earliest memory of art was when I was 4. I had created a picture I was so incredibly proud of. My younger cousin came over later that day and scribbled all over my “masterpiece” with permanent marker. I was inconsolable! When I finally fell asleep, my dad somehow rescued my art and removed her scribbles. To this day, I don’t know how he did it.

I am the 3rd of 4 kids. I can't remember a time when our Mum didn't have us around a table making, drawing and generally being busy. For years each Christmas each kid got a 'box' in which we got our own scissors, tape, rulers, coloured paper, and things to colour with.

I love that! What a fun creative thing to look forward too. Art supplies were always so much fun to get as a kid. I loved opening my stocking, because there was always a new set of markers in there. Thank you for sharing a fun memory with us.

Gosh I can't remember when I fell in love with art; I've always done it! My love of art was passed onto me by a family member and that helped kickstart my development, but I've always been looking to improve since I was a wee kid. My love of history also heavily tied in with art. I got a lot of inspiration from museums as a child and I still do today. The techniques of the old masters have always fascinated me, so I tend to work in very archaic styles. In fact, I recently completed an A1 portrait using the chiaroscuro method of Caravaggio!

I love that! Museums are a great way to get inspired and to learn. Something I’d like to do more. My museums are my local trees 😂 Thank you for sharing that with us. Inspiring and what a great way to be introduced to art.

I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t involved in art . My Mom and her 3 sister were all into art but more so after all us kids grew up . I took every art class that our JR. High and High School had to offer . I started painting as a preteen and still am involved in art at 69 yrs old . I recently started taking pottery classes and am having a ball . I enjoyed this tutorial !

I fell in love with art at an early age. When I was 13, my mother took me to Chouinard Art School for a summer life drawing class. She was a student there. I formally studied art for my BA earned in 1975. Then did none until I retired in May of 2022. Now I am compelled to create art. I do realistic pastel painting of animals and am trying to get good at loose watercolor landscapes. So glad that I stumbled across your videos on KZbin!

Ooh I love that! I have zero experience in pastels, but can appreciate it, especially a take on animals. Sounds fun and hard haha I hope my videos are adding value to your own experience and journey into landscapes. 🤍🌲

I've always liked art. My grandma used to buy me an art set for my birthday when I was a child. I really got into art when I tried out calligraphy for the first time and wanted to try more different projects and how I could make it look nice and pretty. Then I got into water color painting and just enjoyed it as a relaxing hobby.

Ummm... I can say I started drawing before I wrote... When I grew I drew in the time gaps that I found between writing, scribbling on paper... And now it's the most cherished part of me... I am all over the place in terms of mediums too...i relish hyper realism..But I love water color due to the layers that it gives... A sort of abstract exactness if that makes any sense... It allows me to be free... And dwell in nature or structures... Being there and not being there.. I tried this today, added couple of more warmer and cooler hues... Turned out great... Would love to go in more detail or forms of this. Thanks for sharing

I loved the dimension you had before you covered your sponge stippling with the brush strokes. I would have trusted your first instinct. I have the same problem where I changed midstream and probably should not have.

Can I ask, when you start putting the first set of trunks in, is the initial sponged stage totally dry?
@JackiePeacock
@JackiePeacock Жыл бұрын
That’s a great question. The paper is still slightly wet. More so damp. The trunk can feather out depending on how wet the paper is, so I’d let it sit a minute before adding your trunks if you want to avoid that.

I actually wish artists would show us the full techniques in these tutorials, including the actual misting. I fell in love with art as a kid, though I would consider myself artistic in the least. I am obsessed with trees because of storms in the South as a kid and now I live in WA State with several National Parks. I got my first camera while on active duty Navy on Diego Garcia (an atoll in the Indian Ocean). Then I really got into photography when I married my husband here in WA State who was also into photography. But I would say I'm really more into photo editing and computer graphics type art, probably because I can't draw.
@JackiePeacock
@JackiePeacock Жыл бұрын
Yes absolutely! I didn’t really include showing the mist here, but I think I’m getting better at filming and remembering to include everything. So many thing lol. But I do agree. 🤍 I hear you on the trees. Nothing like the west coast trees and forests. Just magical. I love that you’re into photography! That was my first love. 🌲 photo editing is a beautiful art form. It’s a really great tool for understanding color too.
