I don't just like this video, I LOVE it. Seriously, I want to watch it over and over again. I have always been a major perfectionist and my art teacher in high school would bust my chops over it because I was so hard on myself (and still am). My favorite art medium was always watercolor but I become flustered too easily and my teacher said it just didn't work with my personality and how I can't accept mistakes or not have control over everything. Since graduating high school I've been determined to one day get back into watercolor to help me personally overcome that control problem I've always had. Watching this video I would squeeze my hands and get panicked at times over a mistake possibly about to happen and what I loved was that you are completely okay with it and you carry along. It made me so happy and hopeful to one day work with paint and be that relaxed!

Hi Lindsay, a few years ago I bought a cheap watercolor set on a whim and was searching KZbin for tutorials to get me started. This was the first one I came across that I really enjoyed watching and painting along with, and this hummingbird was my second-ever watercolor painting. In the 3 years since, I've grown so much as an artist and I really have you to thank for that. Your positivity and joy for painting inspired me and got me through some of my early hurdles and self-doubt about whether I was "good" at painting or not. Now I watercolor cards and paintings for my family and friends and I have the confidence to put my work out into the world and you're the person I have to thank the most for that. Painting has brought me so much happiness and creating is so wonderful, and I don't think I would have discovered this passion without you, and this tutorial. I still follow along on your more recent tutorials because you are so inspiring and fun to watch. Thank you for everything :)

OMG, Lindsay, lol, no more coffee for you! This was fun, thank you. I think this is the third time I have watched this tutorial and have yet to paint this. You really brighten my day. I did paint the door today that you taught last week though. It isn’t great but, hey, it was loose and I haven’t painted in 2.5 months. It is hard to get back in the groove after not painting for so long so I am happy that I could actually paint again! Time to get back in the habit of doing something every day (I hope, lol). Thanks again. Remember, take all the time you need on a tutorial, it can always be fast forwarded for those who find it too long. It really helps me when I see the whole process. 🤗❤️🙏🎨🇨🇦👩🏻🎨

L Anzaldo Thanks so much! I'll share a tip with you, I often draw a picture on tracing paper and then transfer it to my good paper or canvas to paint, that way if I mess it up or decide I want to paint it in another medium I can. Especially if I am working on a complicated piece that takes a lot of time to draw:)

You are totally and utterly awesome and have saved my 3rd wedding anniversary present problem. I live in a small rural town and not many shops. Got not much in way of presents here, go to newsagents and could only find a business card holder. Welll this has turned out the most awesomeness present ever (zipped up on coffee and ever so humble lol). Cut card to business size and made about twentyish cards to fit in holder. Your hummingbird, pink rose and "loose bird" were quick (not as good as yours) but pretty good. Thank you for sharing and keep up your awesomeness xo

In high school I was in an art class, I won some competitions etc.. but because of a serious joint-illness i gave it up. I started to take photographys, and BAMM- we are ten years later. My mom died, I graduated for university and photos was not enough already. So I start to draw again. Not easy to re-start. not used skills for a while = almost have no skills. Pencil drawing goes almost such as before the gap, but painting stresses me every time when I take a brush. I stressed = work sucks....aaand, then, I found your channel . You give my hope back! Just finished your (my!) hummingbird some minutes, and not so bad! :) ( I have a high maximalism level :D ) So, thank you again Lindsay :) I think, I will try your other tutorials too!
