Hey thanks for the awesome tutorial. Do you have a system to find out how to combine the washes? Or is it all "trial and error"...?

Trial and error, but there are some tricks that I use: Start from light and then wash with dark. Use complementary colors to create striking shadows. For instance: purple or purplish blue for greens, grayish green for reds, etc... Build up from orange for red, from yellow for green, from pale blue for dark blue. Then it is experimenting, trying stuff, and having fun with whatever you want to achieve! Paint bravely, and stay between the lines!
