I wrote a memoir when I was 23. At first it was bc people said it was the golden age so I wanted to document my adventures. It ended up being the worst year of my life, I had never felt so depressed, so I was writing to cope. Then I finished it, formatted it and stuff, I was very serious about publishing it. Now I read it and it's just teenage angst😂😂😂 It is called "2023: an unofficial manifesto of young adulthood misery"😂😂

clicked on this video as soon as i saw it bc i live w/ BD1. being diagnosed w/ bipolar can be so destabilizing ... like it has literally taken me nearly 4 years to get to a point where i trust that there is a version of me that feels safe in my mind and body despite having been in a euthymic state for around 2 years. i've always admired not just your art, but also your words in articulating your experiences. thank u for sharing your story online in this way -- i wish i had the courage to do the same. also so very proud of u for starting your med journey! i swear once you find the right cocktail of meds for ur mind and body, u will be like "shit, is this how neurotypical people feel on the daily?" anyway, from one BD girlie to another, i'm sending u sm love and support

hi, person with moderate diagnosed adhd here. listening to what you’re experiencing, i understand how you might think what you’re experiencing are symptoms of adhd. many of the symptoms have an overlap with other disorders like bipolar disorder, since it’s not a personality disorder but a neurological disorder. oftentimes, symptoms of depression and anxiety also closely align with some of those of adhd. however, people with adhd suffer from a large variety of symptoms that are more than just issues with being distracted and overstimulation that have been present all throughout their life, including childhood, and cause problems in multiple areas of their life, not only one such as school for example. having adhd makes pretty much everything more difficult for me and has since i was young, and what you’re describing doesn’t really feel like actually experiencing adhd, it just feels like an overlap of a few common symptoms of other disorders being misattributed to stereotypical adhd. i’m not a professional though, but i would honestly take what your psychiatrist is saying into consideration and actually researching the symptoms that adhd has. i know not every professional is correct 100% of the time, but if talking to them about your symptoms and finding that a lot of them align closer with bipolar disorder rather than adhd, then i would trust what they believe. like others said, if you’re still not sure then you could definitely go and get a second opinion from a professional. wishing you luck on your journey!

This is the first time I heard about someone taking the same bipolar medication as me!! It’s so comforting know I’m not alone being a young woman stuck with this lifelong diagnosis🙏🏼❤️ I’ve been taking the medicine (200 mg) coming up on 4 years now and I’ve never expected vivid dreams or any kind of negative effects, exactly the opposite! I feel stable and have managed to live a very exiting and fulfilling life without worrying about loosing control over my emotions. I hope you can feel the same way soon❤️

OMG same I am also an artist with bipolar II. I have had severe depressive episodes since I was 6 and recently (23) started getting hypomanic episodes as well… urgh it sucks to have all those „seasons“ in my mind and have these drastic personality changes all the time. For the depression I am hooked on two different drugs, Quetiapin and Venlafaxin which help. I always dealed with it by myself, but I have started to admit myself to the psychiatry when it is really really bad which has also helped so much. It’s a difficult thing to handle, but you got this girl! And I think you are super funny :D

Your description of ADHD reminds me a lot of what I'd complain about when I was younger. Turns out, it wasn't adhd, it was depression and anxiety. I couldn't focus on anything for long because every second I felt like I had a target on my back and someone was out to get me. Every little noise, simulation and thought pierced into my focus and I couldn't hold it together. I also couldn't read or watch movies but entirely. I just couldn't sit still and let myself get immersed for a whole hour or two because I was scared I'd be attacked. I also grew up in an unstable household and been through emotional and physical abuse. You sound a lot like younger me. I hope the medication helps and good for you to get the help you need.

I am also trying to understand if what I have is adhd (or possibly autism) or just social anxiety. I grew up in an unstable and emotionally and physically abusive household as well. how did you know it was depression and anxiety instead for you?

Also, if you're suffering from literally anything new and detrimental upon taking meds (anxiety induced dreams and stuff as you mentioned 22:11 ) please inform the psychiatrist, prevention is better than cure yk !!!(cliché ik, still...) I personally like salon style! It looks like how when you go to someone's home and see photos of their family and friends hanging on the wall. It's not overwhelming to me, but rather feels natural and "home-y", which kind of fits your theme of joy and memory and relationships. The pieces would "bloom out" together of the wall, like how joy is not just the individual memories, but collectively shaped by all your memories at once (something similar to whole is greater than the sum of its parts). The linear-style is valid too, but I also feel that it's very structured and doesn't underscore the connections between paintings. Anyways, this is just my babbling opinion, and I don't know anything about art haha. Whatever you go with, I will enjoy what you have made nevertheless and will continue to support ur videos!!

aw, I think your jokes are funny. it's like Zoomer poetry. And the bar might be too low but saying that is just encouragement to keep healing. I noticed that the people close to us tend to be more sensitive to our sadness because they know what kind of happiness we're capable of, even if they've never actually seen it.

i dont know bout that bipolar dignosis- SO MANY women with ADHD or Autism/ADHD get misdiagnosed as Bipolar instead. Honestly, I know it would be REALLY HARD to get a second opinion or see another doc instead, so I highly suggest talking to other people that actually have ADHD or Bipolar to see if your experience resonates with either one.

Thankful that youtube suggested me back to your videos again. Have a lot catching up to do. About the style of showing your art: I dont know if its allowed or possible go mix between the both. Meaning go go linear so case a but indeed putting two smaller ones ankve each other and then again a bigger one. Like a mix of both. Because I agree that case b would be too overwhelming. And case a too stiff. So maybe find a middle path, if its somehow understandable? Also I was dianosed with ADHD past month. It was a curse and relief at the same time. Fingers crossed on your mental health journey. Not sure if a psychiatrist can diagnose so quickly? You do need more testing. And to my mind I do see adhd in you and maybe it's trauma and traima response combined which is not meaning being bipolar (coming from a person who worked with mental health and neurodivergent personalities). Sure I onl saw your online version and wouldn't dare to diagnose anything at all. Just hope that you'll get more testings. Use your dreams to make so jung dream analysis. Really recommend it to you, because our brain is healing when we sleep and is sending us signs (such as the pulling teeth thing), and remembering your dreams will help you analyze what it was about.
